Western Colorado shoots their first E-Target 600 yard Benchrest match

As many of you know, FREEDOM BENCHREST has an E-TARGET benchrest program.

The Western Colorado Rifle and Silhouette Club hosted our first Freedom electronic BR match yesterday.

We ended up with a mostly sunny day with high temps in the low 40's. It was a bit cool when we set up targets but the conditions improved as the morning sun got overhead.
We did have some normal Western Colorado winds...... but not so strong or tricky that the fellas didn't shoot some might small groups!

It was lots of fun, although there was a learning curve....... short and easy, but a learning curve all the same.
By the end of the day, the match was moving fast and shooters were having a hoot.

Most loved the instant feedback of the shotmarker targets systems. I tried to "chase the spotter" and ended up with a big ugly group. Shooting smooth and steady is still the answer for me.

Our shooters loved not having target crew duties and real time info....... several shooters with tuners, were making adjustments between sighter shots. It was fun to listen to the ideas and gaming of the match. I think the runners had better aggs by some margin. Not sure on score?

EDIT:
A shooter just pointed out to me that I forgot to change the date in the match program.
So, just to be clear, the match was shot on Saturday the 13th of January, 2024.
My apologies.

New Benchrest shooter,

Tony is a PRS shooter trying his hand at the Tactical Rifle Game

Tony had a great time and we hope to see him at the February match.

.005 broke the tie for two gun!
Congrats to Mike and Tim

I need to look into this e target set up, come spring
Yep, both fellas have their rifles tuned well, I heard Tim say he waited one target to long to nudge the tuner out.

FYI, Mike is talking like he may make the annual pilgrimage for the Old Geezer Reunion this year. :D

Boy that one spiked foot on that front rest sure close to the edge..
I know it won't move much but that makes me nervous.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does 29.1 inch represent?
Thanks for the question, not ignorant at all.

The distance between the two farthest shots on the target frame.
This incorporates all the sighters and record shots. Not useful but I had all the systems set to record largest group and that is exactly what it did. We just tap the screen on the zoomed in record target and get what we need for the record group. This way there is no delay hitting the "going for record" button.
Remember, in Freedom Benchrest, the shooter is welcome to go back to the sighter when ever they want to....... just like short range group shooting. It really is all about shooting small groups that are centered up.

The lower target is the sighter target and top two are record targets.

29" is easy to do with shots on a couple of targets.

This is the form we used to get data to the score keeper, all target data was captured like the photo below into a database.

So is this what the shooter sees on his device? T1 & T2 plus sighter?
Just wondering how you are able to separate the record and sighter shots.
While I have shot on the Shotmarker my overall experience is somewhat limited.
