7-6.5 PRC: N555 vs H4350

I have three barrels chambered in 7/6.5 PRC that are running N555. They are all shooting lights out. I am getting 2915 fps from 56.1 and a BR-2 primer with 180 Hybrids. When I go to 56.7 I get 2960 fps and no pressure signs and tight primer pockets. I can get 2975 with 57.0 with no pressure signs but the 56.7 load shoots a little tighter. I tried H4350 (because I have 50lbs.) and it would not get the velocity with lots of pressure signs. The accuracy was also not as good. One other thing worth mentioning is it recoils less than the H4350 loads - It feels like the recoil is spread out more and not as sharp - YMMV.

Been doing alot if testing with the 7-6.5 trying to get ready for nationals. I spent WAY to much time trying to make N555 shoot. It seems to want to shoot ok at 56.3 around 2890, and again at 56.7 at 2950 or so...but it pressures up quickly...the 56.3 will shoot 1.5' - 2" 5 shot groups at 600, but open up at 1000. The 56.7 didn't shoot that good at 600, but around 6" at 1000....it would put 4 shot into 2-3", then throw a shot out..it was differently on the high side of the upper node just waiting for a train wreck..

RL16 - Ladder test showed a very nice node between 53.4 - 54.2 grains...shoots well at 53.6 at 2890...the 54.2 was 2945-2950 range...shoots decent there as well, but again, on the wrong side of the node for me..it really surprised me how much better the RL16 is over the 555 in my gun. The 555 was "erratic" is how I would describe it...it wanted to shoot, but never really did great. The RL 16 settle in very quickly and nicely for me..

As mentioned by Alex and many other's.. a number of powder combinations will work.
Do not rule anything out till you find the one your combination likes. I was fortunate in having my first or second powder choice to work real well, and the history from my last barrel did'nt hurt any either.
No need for me to try anything other than N555 with this barrel.

Question: Is Team McMillan named after a Captain McMillan, an Olympic shooting competitor when I was young? If so, I met marine captain McMillan at a pistol shoot inSane Diego... Oh so many years ago!
Thanks for the RL16 info.
Just happened to have a can of RL16 stashed away and waiting for a chance to find the right cartridge to use it in and now that I am gearing up for the 7-6.5PRCW I will put it to use.
Of course it will be just my luck that it will be THE powder and I cannot get any more...
Mostly UnObtainium here in OZstralia... and $$$$ and of course only 1# {454grams} rather than 500 grams...

What powder would you guys start with in a 22" barrel with 180 hybrids? Temp stability is important.
My barrels are 32” but H4350 works well and is available. H4831SC also. N555 is another good one but seems hard to find at the moment. Those are the three I have tried.

How was MV and temp stability in 4831sc vs N555? I’m looking for a backup powder to the N555.
I push out the Berger 184's in a 280AI with 55.7gr of 4831SC {AR2213SC where it is made...Hodgdon just puts their label on it} jammed and no pressure signs cloudy, cold & rain or blazing sun, no snow here so cannot say but seems to perform well for me...

It's going to be the slower of the 2 but, being short cut, no trouble getting enough in the case. Using around 2.0 grains more to achieve the same velocity as N555 .Temp stability is excellent.
