The outdoor range I work PT at hosts a winter rifle league but has no input into it. This year there are 22 members and it lasts 10 weeks. We shoot at 100/200/300yd distances and each week is a different target. It is open to any center fire rifle and it must be scoped. All shooting is required to be done with a front Bipod and soft rear bag. Those are the only restrictions. Each week is a total of 20 shots. Only the very first week is shot as a group and after that the targets may be shot any time during range hours for that week..
Last Sunday was our first week and the target was a IBS Official 100yard Hunter Rifle. The kicker for week one is also that there will only be two 15min sessions. First session is unlimited foulers and 3 sighters. Second session starts with round robin firing, one each, at each of five sub targets. From there the rifle is cleared, made safe and then the shooter must get up, walk back and touch the rear wall. Then continue shooting 5 shot round robins until complete. Any unfired shots after the 15min are forfeited.
This first week I scored 169/200 with a 15 point penalty for an extra shot on a sub-target. Also on subs 3 and 4 I took errant hits from a neighbor shooter.
