Great deal on might armory decapper

been wanting to get a mighty armory decapping die with primer flicker (hate it when you pull primer back up).
Decided to go on their site and they have some blems that are a great deal.
I ordered one and wanted to pass along in case anyone else has been on fence about getting one.

Are they significantly better than the $15.98 Lee decapper?
I love my Mighty Armory die, but I wouldn't say it's significantly better. The main thing I hated about the Lee is the collet. It has to be torqued down to about 5 million ft lbs or the pin gets pushed up...especially with crimped pockets.

Plus, the flicker feature alone is worth it imo. I got so tired of cases stuck in the shell holder because the primer wasn't fully pushed out.

A few winters ago I went to work on a 5 gal. bucket full of Lake City 5.56- the Navy reserve used to use our range to qualify. My dad was the R.O. at the time.
With the lee decapper I made it through about 100 cases before it broke. I ordered a M.A. and finished the 5 gal bucket of brass. I then loaned it to my brother and he did at least another 5 gals of crimped primers. To me it IS significantly better. But I don't reload/shoot to save money.

The Mighty Armory decap die, especially the blem's , in my opinion are the best deal . Between coming with the small diameter pin, the spring function makes it known that the primer has been popped out. I honestly wish I had bought one a long time ago.....rsbhunter

Yes, my Lee looked like the dog had been chewing on the pin after quite a bit of use.

That’s weird. I used a Lee universal decapper for years. I even turned down the original pin, so that it would work with the small flash holes on BR brass.

I eventually made the mistake of running a piece of berdan primed brass and broke the original pin. I bought a replacement pin that was already sized for BR brass and it hasn’t missed a beat since.

I really don’t know if it was bad metal in the pin or a bad operator problem of not having it set right. I’ll revisit it sometime, and do have a extra pin. I will give it to a family member starting out sometime.

I bent 3 MA pins this year doing some moderate 9mm loading with range pickup brass. Some of the flash holes were way off center. One pin bent and went thru the side of the case on my progressive. That was fun trying to get it off.

MA is better than a standard decapper, but MA is not indestructable.

That's crazy...I posted on this forum awhile ago about a stainless pin being stick in my case that I didn't know about and the MA decapper bent it. The decapping pin is still in perfect condition.

Whether you are running a single stage press, progressive press, automated progressive press (definite necessity), or a Lee APP press dedicated for decapping cases there is no better answer than a Spring Loaded Decapping Die, such as Mighty Armory or FW Arms. These types of decapping dies really shines when dealing with tight primers, crimped primers, lacquered/sealed primers, or where reloading process operates at speed faster than a Rockchucker.

Based on type of reloading, not everyone needs one, But once you have one then you'll understand why you won't go back. Make the investment because You deserve it! Happy New Years!
