Suppressor: Aluminum, stainless or titanium?

I’m thinking of going thru the process of getting a suppressor. Is one material so superior over the others to justify the cost? Aluminum is the cheapest. Will it hold up?
Stainless is next but I worry about the weight.
Titanium is the most expensive. Is it worth it?
Thanks in advance.

Aluminum is not worth it. I'm also not a fan of monocore suppressors.
You can scratch aluminum while you're cleaning. They also pit easily.Titanium is the best, lightest and toughest but it is an unneeded upgrade.
Suppressors are a lifetime purchase. Saving $100 by buying an aluminum suppressor is not saving you anything

I build Form 1 cans, have built several. As a Form 1 builder you are the manufacturer, so you can modify or repair as long as the tube itself remains the same, so to facilitate cleaning, repair and general maintenance, I get the toughest can I can get, titanium. I also prefer baffles.
Get it engraved upon order It can be anodized with five 9 volt batteries in series, baking soda stirred up in distilled water and an aluminum foil strip. Buying all the parts on line is a bit more complicated today than a few years ago, but can be done.

Anodized titanium can.

Are you planning on using it on just one host/firearm, or swapping it around as needed or desired? I have a 30 cal that I use on all of my threaded barrels, from 20 cal up to 6mmBR. I have all of my barrels threaded the same so I don't have to change anything on the suppressor.

Find one the manufacture will warranty, material choice is secondary. Look at Bowers, he warrantied a can filled full of slugs. Like Tom says, full auto rated is full auto rated. He'll fix and send it back.

Rimfire or Centerfire?
I want one that I can move around to different rifles, from 22 cal up to 30 cal. A guy at the range was using one on a 223 and I was impressed with how quiet it was. I pulled my ear muffs off for a few shots and it sounded quieter than a 22 long rifle.
It would be used for hunting mainly or a little target shooting behind the house. Keeping the “noise” down so I don’t upset my 85 year old neighbors would be a good thing!

I bought a couple of titaniums primarily for my 6.5 and 6mm's, occasional use on my 223 with sound reduction as a priority (i.e. not weight or length). One submission took 51 weeks and the other took 53 weeks for approval. Couldn't be happier. Shooting doesn't have to be loud.

Thunder Beast Arms did a comprehensive noise reduction test earlier in 2023 for a large number of suppressor vendors on both the 5.56 and 308 platforms. Lots of numbers and data points to consider but SE dBA (Shooters Ear dB Adjusted) is supposed to be representative of noise at the shooters ear.

I've been impressed with the Rugged Alaskan. They have a Ti version to. I'm likely going to pick that version up soon.

The process to get one is actually very simple using silencershop.com. Once you go their the initial setup and go get your fingerprints at one of the kiosk and do photo on app, you are all but done until time to pick up.

Be aware once you start you'll want more . My favorite cans are 22 rimfire cans. Just plan fun. I have numerous others. If I could only have 1 though, it would be the Alaskan Ti.

I wish there was a class for the Form 1 route, first home built would be for rimfire.

What part? Doing the machine work or the paper work?

I agree about a rimfire can being the first/best overall. Movie quiet and the best bang for the buck. I currently don't have any centerfire cans, however, I still have a rimfire floating around.
