I did myself a big favor and upgraded to the Wheeler system that clamps to the barrel. Followed the instructions that came with it. The first time at one mile my elevation come up got me on the target within 1 MOA. The windage took a little work though. 4X5' target.

My definition - Stadia marks are graticule indicators (dots and/or hashes) set a specific length apart and located on the reticle of a telescopic instrument that allows not particularly accurate rangefinding by comparing an assumed standard dimension of a target.
