New Garmin Xero C1 Radar Chronograph

I ordered one from Cabela's this morning around 9, and received shipping confirmation shortly after 5 pm. Let's how long it takes to arrive.

What practical application did you get out of the labradar "downrange" readings?
Just seeing this now.

Rimfire and airgun velocity data - it was helpful to collect the actual velocities and calculate real ballistic coefficients. But it does miss velocities at distance sometimes and it takes a scrutinizing eye to trim out the bad data.

I suppose I could set one way out there but even one of my older optical chronographs gives me pause unless I’m on a range completely by myself.

Received the Garmin Xero C1 about an hour ago.
Not too bad: Ordered yesterday morning, and received today early afternoon, from Cabela's via FedEx. It was supposed to require signature, but the driver was back in the truck when I opened the door.
I will be testing tomorrow side by side with the Labradar.

Picked mine up today from Cabela's with 10% savings they had last week for ship to store. Turned it on when I went to do a job at the projects to see if it would pick up a stray round. Found out it pegs the radar detector in the car, may have another use to see people hitting their brakes when you turn it on while on the freeway. Anyways I tested it with the pellet rifle in the back yard when I got home and it picked up the shots with no trouble. Need to get out to the rifle range and do some more comparison with the Magnetospeed and optical. I am sure those will be backups after how easy this is to setup and use. Sinked to the phone app instantly without having to plug any cables in like with the others. Did have to plug into the computer to load update and register, but was quick and painless.IMG_3072.jpeg

How does it mount to the unit ? Does it have an arca mount to attach it to a tripod ?

1/4x20" hole on the bottom of the Xero, the same hole the OEM tripod uses.

I use the right hand arca clamp to attach it to the rifle. If I want to use it on the tripod, I'll just unscrew it from this plate and screw in the tripod.

Halleluiah! Just called Cabela's. They said my Garmin arrived at my local Cabela's this morning! I should receive an email from them today or tomorrow that it is ready for pickup.

So it should mount on any tripod with a 1/4x20" hole?

Took mine to the range today....could not compare it to a Labradar, but it recorded every shot and was very simple to set up without reading the directions. This was on a range that would drop >50% most shots using multiple Labradars by multiple experienced shooters (baffles seem to interfere with the Labradar in my experience).

Garmin didn't fully like this setup off my SEB Neo although it did record 15 of 17 shots { note the 1" steel post in front of the chrono }; worked flawlessly off the included tripod on the bench. got home and sent the session data wireless to my laptop with 1 click from my phone. winner winner chicken dinner.
