New Garmin Xero C1 Radar Chronograph

I sure hate hearing all these good things, it's sure tempting me to cheat on my 35P. I even have a couple of spares, but I hate the hassle of the screens and the lights above them. The mobility of that thing would be wonderful.... John
would love to see a test side by side with the oehler

I had one at the range yesterday. We just used the supplied tripod. Super easy to use. Picked up every shot that the user fired and none that they didn't. There were about 24 people out there shooting. Variety of rifles and users. Brakes, suppressors, and bare muzzles. Didn't matter at all. Didn't even try to align it to the targets, just plunked it down and shot at steel scattered around. Range is about 150yards wide and there were targets off on the sides. One guy held it beside shooters and it still picked up all the shots. It got passed around for different shooters to test. None had issues figuring it out. Settings are a no brainer. I'd like to test with my 17s but so far I'm super happy with the unit.

Unless the price point comes way, way down I don't see a place in the market for a labradar. I don't personally know anyone using the b.c. calculator that the lab does. Everyone I know goes and trues up their drop after getting a speed. Don't see where another $150 over a magnetospeed V3 isn't worth it either. Both companies are gonna need to reevaluate

It's a different class Chrono than the MagnetoSpeed. It's and Apples to Apples comparison between the LabRadar and Garmin. Sounds like there's no comparison.

I got my Garmin Wednesday and the first opportunity to test it was Friday. With eight other guns on the line and a couple more Garmin Xero there as well it ignored all the possible distractions and gave me an answer to every shot I fired. I purposely left it in one position and moved my rifle (on a bipod) every five shots. Started shooting on the right side of the range, moved to the far left, back to the middle and then the last five on targets that were right at 16" elevation above all the others. SD numbers were right on par with those previously recorded with both my Magnetospeed and Labradar (Since I was shooting out of town it wasn't the time to test all three against each other at the same time.
Lastly, the battery hung in there for 4.5 hours run time and still showed 66% power remaining .
Oh, and Saturday I recorded 20 shot strings with three different rifles (even one suppressed) and captured every shot.
Everything went right to the app on my phone (it paired automatically when I powered the Xero up) and I was easily able to label the data for each rifle AND export that data to CSV files.
It allows you to mark both cold bore and clean bore shots (both if the cold bore is also clean).
In summary the "Xero is a Hero" and eventhough I had just purchased a new Labradar, JKL trigger, battery pack, ARKOMATT base and protective hard case, I don't regret for a second spending the $$ on the new Garmin.

Today is the first day I got to run my new Garmin Xero and like other's have mentioned, it didn't miss a shot. I set up my MagnetoSpeed V3 the same as always and set the Garmin off to my right side ~10" and ~24" back from the muzzle. In taking 20 shots with 10 shot sessions, there was a variance from 0 - 3 fps difference (one outlier of about 6fps). Below is one of those 10 shot sessions:

There were a few shooters who I know that were shooting near me who all were using their LabRadar, so I went to each of them and set my Garmin down to see what kind of differences there would be. Of three that I did this with, two of them showed a max difference of 3fps or less and one of them was from 6 to 9 fps. (the only chrono with that big a difference.

PS: One shooter was shooting a .22LR and the Garmin picked up every shot and all I did was set the Garmin down in a similar position to what you can see in the pics.

The Garmin interface with my Galaxy S10 worked very well. Garmin's software still has a lot of room for improvement. For example, shots are recorded in sessions and each session can only be downloaded individually from the phone app. Only one at a time can be selected for downloading. Garmin need to make it so that multiple sessions can be downloaded at once or make it so that each session is recorded into just one file for downloading. I think this is some kind of oversite by Garmin and they'll eventually do this sometime in a future software update. In the meantime, I'm downloading each session as an CSV attachment to my email then downloading the CSV file onto my desktop to combine the sessions for the day into just one file.

The Xero interface has a short and easy learning curve and the display is very easy to see even in very sunny conditions. There was only one little issue I had with the placement of the unit (having not read any directions ) in that I initially set it a little too far forward where it was receiving some of the blast from the muzzle break and I was getting a couple erroneous velocity readings that didn't make sense. Once I move it back a little, everything worked just fine.

.308 reading on the left; 6.5 PRC reading on the right (phone screen shots).

I'd like to find someone that ordered one from Cabela's recently. They show having them but I have a feeling they'll be a delay in shipping due to them not being in stock. I ordered mine right from Garmin and they said 36-58 days before I get it.

Not exactly the same but I ordered mine from Bass Pro on Saturday and it's supposed to be delivered Wednesday.
I originally was ordering from Cabelas and as I was checking out the power went down and I lost internet service. A couple hours later when the power came back on they were out of stock. I was panicking because I had just cancelled my order through Garmin, but Bass Pro had them in stock. I think they are slowly making them available because they go in and out of stock throughout the day on both sites.

When I ordered mine a week ago from CSTactical I was told it had to go on backorder where they were sold out and wouldn't get any more until mid November and asked if I wouldn't mind waiting. I said "that's fine". Two days later I got an email saying my order was shipped. And 3 days after that, I received it.

Now they my have backorders to fill that take all they'll be getting in November, but it still might be worth looking into here:

I walked in to Cabela's in Scarborough Maine and pick one up.
Hope to get to use it this week.
Glad I did not by a Labradar last month like I was planning.

Ordered one this morning, supposed to receive it this week. No indication of a delay, yet.
