Had to talk myself into going last evening but myself listened. 1st coyote hung up about 150 yds, kept kind of pacing like something was keeping him from coming on in. So I looked in closer to me and there's one all but on top of my call. I did him a favor. The bare spot on the hind leg is Mange, no tail fur and the base of ears were chewed to pieces. Broke his front leg/shoulder with the bullet.

Back out at 150 that one decided to vanish into some heavy tall grass but I knew he didn't leave. I switched to a howl with a little grumbling and short howls. Gave it a minute or 2 and switched to a different howl and reduced the volume slightly. In my mind, I was setting up the presence of 2 yotes that had gotten together to visit. It worked, here he came out of the tall grass. Now closer and easier to see his intentions. He headed for the call. Hit him well but he spun and then ran. Didn't make it but maybe 20 yards.

I did switch to 25 grain V-Max in the 17 Fireball and adjusted the trigger up closer to 3lbs. It worked, 2 shots, 2 dead coyotes. The small bolt on the M85 mini Mauser is a pain but it forces me to move slowly and not throw brass on the ground. Quiet and calm getting another round in the chamber kept the shy one close by.
