Went scouting last weekend for daughters elk hunt. Not much water in most areas. She drew a multi unit hunt so we did find some water but a cow elk hunt was going on and people were all around the water areas.

What units are you in? 2a, 2b hunt?

September/October are the best !

Temps have been down to 40* and up to 75* during the day

Did snow some in September up high above 9K' in my locale

SLC ski towns picked up 24" snow already too...another MAGA winter...maybe

It's nice to know that someone else uses descriptive words like "punky"!

Neighbor down the road quit burning wood a few years ago. and his son
has been trying to get rid of the wood pile for him. I cleared it out for him
and every thing on the bottom was nasty. It was not stacked in racks or on
above ground rails. Yeah, it was punky......LOL Got a good cord and a half
of 5 year old hardwood that quite a bit of it still needs split.

Pheasant season opened Saturday, rainy weather going into it Thursday,Friday, Saturday morning. Corn harvest behind schedule making a double whammy for pheasant. 2 shots, 2 roosters. Louisiana chicken batter pheasant tenders. New shingles on the house yesterday, glad the sun's out today.

I have spent a large amount of time in 8, 10, and 19b east side. Dont know these other units deep into them. Just some main roads ive been on exploring
