Here is all the winners in a group photo, you guys showed out, great shooting!
I always take time to get photos, I would have liked to separate out classes, but honestly we were crunched on daylight, and I know a lot of shooters need to get on the road, life goes on Monday morning.
My apologies

Thanks to everyone that attended you guys made it work on your end, easy transitions relay to relay, 28 times a day
And our target crew and stats folks rocked it as well.

Thanks to all involved in making it a great match

Sara Jacobs

And a huge thanks to all the sponsers involved!
You folks put out the goods to make it the best prize table I have ever seen at a Benchrest Nationals.
If I dropped the ball anywhere, it was getting more pics of the prize drawings, but after the weather event we had on Saturday we were pushed for time, rain and lighting were not our friends.

Also a huge thank you for all the food that was cooked from Monday to Monday , unless you have ever been here to a big event, it’s hard to put in writing, we ate like kings!
Two smokers running daily,
Brisket, ribs, beef tenderloins, smoked salmon, fresh gulf shrimp, ribeyes for everyone.

This place has become what I dreamed of a long time back,
A place to gather with like minded folks, cut up, and enjoy getting away from the grind, throw in a lil shooting and you have a recipe for a great time.

I wish in that dream, I had thought about having calm conditions , it must of been stormy that night!

Thanks again

The end of a run, start of a new beginning!
I feel compelled to say thank you to all the support staff that Helped Tom E and Sara jacobs pull this match together it was run as clean as they can possibly be… lots of range diversity as per normal at big matches but a team that has a common goal in mind things just work out even when the rain is sideways at 25 miles per hour … lots of smiles and laughs where had as we juggled the last week’s events… coming together if even just for a moment in time is so worth the effort… the best is still out in front of all of us of that I’m sure and I’m looking forward to it.

There were two very memorable events at the Nats this year for me,
Dave Matthews took the time to count up all the points in IBS, NBRSA and Freedom and make a hall of fame for Freedom, the first recipient is Richard Schatz! One of two moments at the match I won’t forget, and possibly a turning point as I look back now.
I have always looked up to Richard, one of my 600yd idols I guess, not a better person out there, the first time I met Richard was in 2011 at a nationals, I was green as green could be, him and Glenn Sterling pulled in with two others in Glenn’s shootin van, I had heard all the stories about Richard and his shooting skills, he was the guy! He treated me just like I was a good friend, I still remember how he always took to Rory when he was little.
This is what shooting should be like.

After the match, I have reflected a lot, and today a good friend reached out to keep me company on my way to a match in Grand Junction, Colorado and told me how it affected him as well.

There are turning points in everyone’s life, this one and Mark being given that soy trophy and his speech afterwards, have set the tone for myself and where Vapor Trail is headed, what we do, how we treat people , what we want to be remembered for.

Life is short, keep good company, make memories and enjoy the hobby we all love!

Congrats Richard, much deserved recognition

You my friend will always be my 600yd idol and great friend!

Thank you for the kind words TomE

This award was a total surprise and definitely caught me totally off guard.
I can't even begin to imagine the hours of work that David invested in pulling together all the data necessary to assemble this list for Freedom Benchrest.
I am very honored to receive such recognition for the accomplishments I have achieved by enjoying a hobby that I started as a youngster on the farm doing chores which included trying to keep the local gopher population in check with a 22 rim fire.

Thanks again;

Richard Schatz
This hobby of ours has allowed me to meet and compete with hundreds of great like minded people who after a few years all become my extended families all over this great country of ours.

The NCMC college ag drones class, came up and got footage before the match and during the match, they knocked it outta the park, adding the sponsers at the end was a great finish to a fun match!

Thanks to everyone involved in this match, from sponsers to shooters to all the help we have, this place would not work without all of you.

Thanks TomE

TomE,
Thanks so much for putting that up (the sound track is my personal favorite song). Not to take anything away from Memphis or St. Louis or Big Piney, this was however, IMHO, the best Nationals I've ever been to. You and Sara have done so much for our sport. You make us better.
Thanks again

I recognize some of those guns....they are like cars, we remember who drives them. Beautiful range!
