solvent traps?

My home page has a news function in the upper left hand corner that has 8 to 20 little stories that the program in the computer thinks are something I am interested in. Sometimes there are gun reviews and 2nd amendment articles. Occasionally there is an add or two mixed in. Today there is an add for solvent traps. Which I think is a trap in itself. ATF is rumored to be going door to door demanding that these be handed over to their agents, and there are You Tube videos showing this happen. If this is all true , why does the ATF allow and add to run?

Eliminating “Freedom of speech” is a bridge too far. The ATF is trying to propose that they can identify “intent by possession” of parts that could become a suppressor.
Do you have a can of gas in your garage? Some could say you’re intending to make a bomb with it.

I think you can buy and possess all of the parts legally but once you assemble it as a whole then it is illegal, sort of like a ghost gun before it is complete. I have seen the kits that use a Maglite flashlight tube and they sell you the threaded end caps, one ~5/8"-24 and the other is ~ say .30 caliber +clearance. Parts is parts.

You need to start looking at articles in which you have no real interest on a regular basis. Then add to that searching/shopping for items in which you have no real interest. Keep the folks trying to sort out your meta data from making any sense of it. I count it as a small "win" when the browser posts adds for items I fooled it into thinking I am actually interested in.

For about a year, Google ads seemed to think I was looking to buy a rock saw: a giant chainsaw-like contraption for quarrying 40' marble slabs. Got all kinds of ads for those things. No idea how, as I work in IT at a community college.

I think about that when I search and order stuff for my almost blind wife! The AI program must think I’m gay, which MUST take me off the “crazy” radar!…….or raise my status?

Solvent traps as a muzzle device, playing with matches and gas as far as I am concerned.

Josh they don't think that far down the road, they just want to sell you more, they do not care if you are blind, gay, or a Martian, as long as they get some money.

The bra adds are ……entertaining!

No I mean about a suppressed rifle. Why does anybody even care? there was a time when the ATF was getting so many requests for suppressor permits that they were asking congress to make it legal without a permit. Now its a big deal again. And I do see that that kit is a suppressor no matter what you call it. But why let them be sold and then try to round them up?

Reminds me of the full-auto sear that was sold for airsoft pistols a few years back, but it was steel and designed for a certain model Glock. They did make an arrest of a customer in that instance because he did install it in his actual pistol.
