Always the easy answer. When criminals move into your neighborhood do you give up your home and all you've worked for so they can win? Getting pretty tired of hearing this.
Well, it works both ways. Some of the rest of us get tired of hearing those living in deep blue liberal enclaves perpetually whining about how restrictive their gun laws are. Sometimes moving is the only answer, especially with a fight you're
never going to win, like this one. This is not a case of a criminal or two moving into a neighborhood and disrupting other resident's lives. It is a case of a fundamental shift in belief systems for an entire region, and you're likely to be outnumbered ten to one or worse. Leave the liberals to the cesspools they have created and move on. Your vote no longer counts, and you'll end up being forced to give up all you've worked for whether you like it or not. I respect that others might have a different opinion, but the notion of rebuilding your life somewhere else by your own choice while you still can is not without merit.
Edited to add:
For those that chooses to stay and fight, I would suggest the following:
First, stop wasting time venting to an audience of like-minded firearms enthusiasts on internet shooting forums...although you may feel better afterward, it accomplishes nothing. Instead, consider the following:
1) Educate yourself about our constitutional freedoms and the local firearms laws/ordnances, including those being proposed and/or enacted. You cannot convince others if you do not have a thorough knowledge of the topic.
2) Organize. Find like-minded individuals whether they be at the local gun store, the shooting range, or even the supermarket. Together, develop a strategy for convincing others of the validity of your cause. There is strength in numbers.
3) Prepare careful and well thought out answers to arguments made by your opponents...there will likely be many.
Rehearse these answers in practice Q/A sessions until they become second nature.
4) Become an activist. Get out and push back against those that would trample on your 2nd Amendment Rights. Contact your local and state government representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms where you stand, and that you will not support anything less. This is where numbers help. If even a relatively small percentage of voters actively contact their government representatives and let them know their re-election may depend on their position on such topics, it
could make the difference. Sometimes even a few people can turn the tide if they're loud enough. Engage those you think may be convinced, or even those that seem pretty well entrenched against you. As long as you counter their [emotional and/or irrational] arguments with cool-headed logic and fact, you may yet win them over. Do not loose your cool, no matter what. If you do, you have lost the debate.
There are no guaratees in this other than if the majority of 2A supporters in a particular area where gun rights are at risk do nothing, those rights will be lost forever.
