In Illinois, of all places - Guns and ammo tax struck down

This is what I have to work with . . .

In a unanimous decision, the Illinois Supreme Court struck down two different laws imposing taxes on the purchase of firearms and ammunition, ruling that the laws violated the Illinois State Constitution. The taxes ($25 per firearm and $.05 per round of centerfire ammunition) were judged to be an undue burden against a citizen's rights to acquire firearms and ammunition and were found to violate the State Constitution's uniformity clause. If you're so inclined, the story may be found here.

Anyhow, one can hope. If reason can prevail in Illinois under the circumstances . . .

Well, that's a surprise. Perhaps they're finally beginning to grow a conscience and some integrity, when it comes to liberties expressly denied to State control.

A "sea change," if they in fact keep it up and continue striking down all of the unconscionable garbage that's clogging the books regarding the RKBA.

Kudos to the court justices, in IL. Good first step.

Aside from Cook county and Metro East, the rest of Illinois is not horrible. Besides, JB is going to cure the planet by shutting down Illinois's coal power plants. As far as I know, we are still saddled with the flippin' FOID card. Which took me 2 years to finally get renewed.

I doubt that it had anything to do with growing a conscience or integrity. The Illinois State Rifle Association has many law suits against the state but they have to pick their battles as their funds are not unlimited. One of them has to do with the delays on getting the FOID cards issued. Richard Pearson is fighting an uphill battle for us but is relentlessly staying at it. If you live in the Land of Lincoln, the ISRA is a great organization to be affiliated with. For $30 a year they are trying diligently to have your back and protect IL resident's rights.

I agree. They have a battle against basically unlimited resources. With Chicago in respect to the rest of Illinois, "the tail wags the dog".

Now if we can get Slezzattle and King County to get slapped in the face by Washington S C.
Just dreaming though because that’ll never happen…

Now,

Apply this principle to the NFA.

No shit, y'all!
