Dave,Blow the body out, shorten the neck and put a 35 degree shoulder on it and it's not a 30-30 any longer.
What is the approximate capacity of the 6mm version?

Did you get the rifle from Clair and Don in Rixford, PA? I used to hang out at their shop. Clair was a talker and Don was quiet, both were craftsmen. One of my friends had a Taylor and Robbins 219 DW he got from them.....He sold it and kicks his a@@ daily. The Wasp’s body is blown out and has the magical 30* shoulder.

The rifle is a Taylor and Robbins 25lb unlimited bag gun from the early 1960’s, action is a Mauser with a 31” 1 1/4” diameter barrel, trigger is a double set.
Yes sir, hunter BR.Seems like I recall one of the BR disciplines required the case capacity be XX grains of powder as that what a 30-30 case was?
That requirement has been changed.Yes sir, hunter BR.
Really! I just got rid of 3 or 4 boxes of 401 Herters. You can also use 30-30 brass to make Herters 401 power mag.
I guess it is good to know, but will I have another? You never know!About 13 years ago, I was looking into 401 brass. I found info online to make it from 30-30 brass.
If I recall correctly Butch never actually made the size dies but he did sell them. He acquired sets made by the late gunsmith John Bunch and resold the sets. I have a set I bought from Butch years ago.I have been told that the Set back dies were made by Paul Bike not Butch Lambert. I have PM in to Butch to verify. Will let everyone know as soon as I find out. Could be either on as my memory is NOT what it used to be
Sorry for any confusion

That rule has changed. These days the common caliber is the .30BR which has less capacity than the 30-30.Yes sir, hunter BR.
The 30-30 was popular enough to form wildcat cartridges that Federal made a run of 30 American brass which was high quality “Match” grade.
I’ve used a lot of it in my 219 Wasp along with 219 Zipper brass.

I got it from a guy in Colorado about 7 years ago.Did you get the rifle from Clair and Don in Rixford, PA? I used to hang out at their shop. Clair was a talker and Don was quiet, both were craftsmen. One of my friends had a Taylor and Robbins 219 DW he got from them.....He sold it and kicks his a@@ daily.
John Bunch gave me a set.I then manufactured them and sold 100 sets. Turnover was too slow and I discontinued them.If I recall correctly Butch never actually made the size dies but he did sell them. He acquired sets made by the late gunsmith John Bunch and resold the sets. I have a set I bought from Butch years ago.
