What wildcats are based off 30-30 brass?

I feel the same way.

I can see a Wasp in my future
CW
My fascination with 30-30 brass began in 1983 with a 7TCU 14" TC barrel that I had rechambered to 7mm International Rimmed. (30-30 necked to 7mm 38 degree shoulder) for IHMSA unlimited class. Ten years later I had been shooting prairie dogs with the usual .223 and 22-250 bolt rifles and wanted something different. Read about the .219 Wasp and thought it would be great in the Ruger No. 3 .221(rechambered Hornet) that I had just bought from a friend. Ordered Redding .219DW 3 die set, 600 R-P 30-30 brass and Shilen No.7 contour 14" twist stainless barrel. A gunsmith friend had a .219DW reamer that was the short original version while the dies were for the long version(1.813 case length). Easy solution was to run the reamer .063 deeper, worked perfect. After adding Ruger No.1 wood it became my favorite PD rifle for years. Several years later I wanted a little more case capacity from a 30-30 case so I had JGS make a reamer with the shoulder moved forward .125 and changed to 35 degrees. I had a No.1 rebarreled with a 14" twist Shilen and later in 2012 a No.3 rebarreled with a 8" twist Shilen 7HV contour to shoot the 75gr A-Max Hornady to try for a 1000 yard PD. Had a 915 yd hit in 2013 in Montana on my last trip out West so came up short of my goal. Meanwhile the .20 caliber were becoming popular. My shooting buddy had a .20BR Bat action built that shot exceptionally well. I wanted to match his powder capacity with a 30-30 case. I simply necked down the long version Wasp to .204 and made the neck .250 long .232 dia. PTG made the reamer. A Ruger No.1 was rebarreled with Krieger 11" twist. First time out in 2009 hit two PD at 634 yards with 40gr V-Max at 4040 fps. A couple years later had the original No.3 .219 rebarreled after more than 6000 rounds to a second .204 Wasp with a Pacnor 11" twist. I might not get to make another trip out West at 78 years old but I take them to the range a couple times a year and the 75gr A-Max does a great job on the coyotes here in Indiana.
First pic is the Ruger No.3 .204 Wasp. WW case loaded with 39gr Blitzking at 4000 fps.
Second pic is Ruger No. 3 .219 DW PDK left case ready to fireform with 53gr V-Max right case is fireformed and loaded eith 75gr A_Max at 3200 fps.

Oh good Lord!
I was just talking to my son this morning about this very thing.
I hunted chucks last May ( first time) , now I’m hooked
A wasp would be the icing on the cake.

I've read something about " going down that rabbit hole". I guess that would apply here.
I forgot to mention the .30 Herrett 10" TC Custom Shop barrel that I shot IHMSA production class with. It would shoot the 175gr SMK into less than an inch at 100 yds. And my favorite TC barrel is a 15" 6.5 Bullberry Imp. match that accounted for many perfect scores in the scoped half size class. Back when I had the .219 Wasp No.3 I also had a 18" Bullberry .219 Wasp barrel that I shot prairie dogs with. I shot it with pistol grip and 3-9 Burris handgun scope and Harris bipod.
Not benchrest accuracy but plenty good for varmints. When the 32gr Z-Max and Nosler Varmageddon came out I tried them in the No.1 .204 Wasp. I had them up to 4375 fps but this milder load was more accurate and shot the same sight setting as the 39gr SBK and 40gr V-Max.

Until the barrel let go, I shot a 30 Wasp. It was set up for Cast Lead competition. 195gr gas check bullet of linotype lead. It served me very well until the barrel finally let go last Sept at our national tournament. They don't make anything like they used to, that barrel only had roughly 10k rounds on it.

I will be making another one, it's just a matter of finding the time.

That's Clair Taylor in the picture. He was older and thinner than Don. I believe Don held a BR record for some time in the late 40's early 50"s. They started the 1000 yard deer hunt and developed the 7mm Taylor and Robbins Magnum for that. Always claimed Rem. stole their design and wouldn't work on a Remington Rifle or use a Remington action. Are there any more pictures out there?
