Cz 457 mtr eley match, center x, sk pistol match, sk rifle match

Well been a while since i made it to the range. Cz 457 mtr still hammering away with junk ammo. Had the fun club match today figured i better go while i can. Used cci blazer ammo shot a 2300 1x slightly better than a few months back so cant complain. Took the win again today. Going to continue burning up all my open old cheap ammo untill i get it all used up then i will start shooting the good ammo again.20230713_131401.jpg

Maybe a 2450 if you move all 25 shots up a bullet width.

I wish I had taken a pic, but yesterday, one of the guys at the
range was testing RWS-50 with a new short barrel CZ-MTR.
They shoot 10 meter indoor group matches prone. He shot
10 shots with an outside edge measurement of .238" !! I just
can't see using them shooting coats and heavy mitts ?? The
sights on the rifle are the open globes. Not sure of the brand
but did not look cheap.....

So who generally keeps RWS in stock ??

Cant say on the rws ammo as i have not shot any. I would imagine most of the big distributors would carry rws if its readily available. Not sure how the rimfire ammo supply is these days i have not looked or tried to buy any ammo for well over a year.

I should do a 50 shot group with this ammo see how it looks. I was aiming all over the target wind was all over today. But 2clicks up might have helped me out for a better score For sure
One point for sure is that high misses will plug in much more often than will low misses. Really comes into play on the Unlimited target where you generally have more shots needing plugs.

John,
I don’t know how hard to do it is, but it’s frustrating. The 2335 had a 10 and a 25. The 2400 had 2 50’s

Champion's choice had some when everybody else was out, but you had to call to order. Good Shooting has had some in stock for a couple of months now.

Just gave the old 457 mtr a deep cleaning been 5 bricks since i jb bore the chamber. Going to be testing some benchrest setups some guys loaned me at my club. They are wanting to see if the rest shoot as good as my bipod setup. Anyone have any pointers on useing rest feel free to let me know. Rest are seb neo and seb neo x

I think you are going to like your bipod set up better. I have a SEB neo and have used it for my CZMTR while testing different ammo. It does work OK but the bottom of the stock on the MTR is not flat enough for my liking to get a good positive feel in the SEB rest, at least with the type of bags I have on my rest for my 3 inch bottom bench guns. Just adjust the sides tight enough but not too tight to steady the rifle.

Yeah i will always choose my bipod setup its fast. This is a test some want to see so i am going to give it a go. Also going to let a handfull of people shoot my rifle setup and ammo in a match. Just to show shooter plays a huge roll in scores. Should get pretty interesting.

I'm sure yours is similar to mine, but it is really sensitive to proper bench manners, and different for different types of ammo even. Waiting to see those results my friend!

Initial reults of testing seb rest random flyers high tried light front preasure to tite still got flyers . I am sure its a setup problem i am having. Man it is way slower to shoot a target than my normal setup. not sure how much more i will test. I will shoot for groups next to see if its the one shot adjust causing my issues. Any pointers appreciated. I almost think its binding in rear bag when adjusting the elevation. Kinda like if my rear bag is not set right when using a bipod it will throw shots. Shot 6 ARA targets with seb rest 2325 to 2400 using my good ammo. So far accuracy is down pretty good from what it normally shoots with my bipod setup, and yes i shot 1 ara target first with normal setup to verify everything was good before the test.

If RWS shoots well in your rifle, try some Norma tac-22. It is made by RWS. There are two varieties, one is a hollow point subsonic at 1017 FPS and the other a solid round nose at 1083 FPS. At $ .08 around it is very attractive. It gets very good reviews. I have not tried it yet but have some on order.

Puts a hurting on the wallet, no doubt. I have a small order coming
in from "Champion's Choice" I have 2 boxes each of R-50 and R-100
coming in to test along with 0ne box of X-ACT. The X-ACT makes the
RWS look cheap !!.....LOL And on another note; I may have come onto
a large quantity of back in the day, "Remington Target". The first outing
with the CZ had the 1980's manufactured ammo shooting way tighter
then the Wolf Extra match. I'll call it a barn find from a good shooting
buddy of mine.....And Harrels is sending me a tuner. It's always something ??

Don’t give up on the font rest too fast. I have shot thousands of rounds through three different rifles using a NEO. It took me a while but I figured it out.

Make sure the rest is level. Make sure the gun is set up square to your rest and rear bag and is tracking perfectly.

Side Tension
But Tension
Trigger Pull

Start off pinning the rifle with tight side tension, shoot a group, reduce it medium side tension shoot a group, then very light tension.

Do the same thing with the side tension shooting free recoil. You will have a good idea about what the rifle likes as far as tension from the rest and pressure on the but.

How you pull the trigger matters. Whether the rifle prefers a firm move and follow through or a light touch of the trigger or something in between when shooting from a front rest is something you will have to figure out.

The only other thing that can cause problems is how you have the gun balanced on the rest and rear bag. Every gun is different but generally you should have about an inch of the stock past the front of the rest. I like about the same amount extended past the back of my rear back so that I am clear of the bag when shouldering the rifle.

My rimfires handle totally different on a rest than my centerfire br rifles. The rimfires are more sensitive to gun handling. But, once you figure out what the gun wants and get them set up right, they seem like they shoot automatically and those fliers magically disappear.

I am sure this is no different than learning to shoot from a bipod.

I haven't been able to get to 'Champions Choice'. Something about their certificate has expired.

That's almost, but not funny ?? I checked my my account last night
and all was fine. Tracking had my ammo being delivered today. Box
is here and in good shape.....Checked on something else, and my Mal-
ware software went nuts ??.....They'll clean it up.

Are you attaching a bag rider on the forend so it fits the front bag like a glove?
