Looks like some Peterson 6 Dasher brass new there also.Creedmoor Sports Inc. has Starline 6mm ARC brass in stock if anyone is interested. Just trying to help anyone look for 6 ARC brass.
I find the narrow cost savings between reloading and new has me buying new 105 black for practice, then reloading the once fired with 103 ELDX for carry. I shoot more work less and acquire brass as I go.
Did not do a H20 test. Looking like slightly more capacity in the Starline offering, to me. Just tested with CFE223 powder to the top of the case. Starline held right at .2 grains more CFE 223. Same load in Starline brass & Hornady brass with CFE 223 under a 105 grain BTHP. Hornady was right at 30 FPS faster in my sample groups. This is virgin Starline VS 2 x fired Hornady Brass. For anyone that has gotten the new Starline 6mm ARC brass have you checked capacity of it versus Hornady?.
Sampled 5 pieces. Results on the Starline is .012" neck wall thickness +/- .0005 due to runout in some instances. After deburing, this is measured with a pin micrometer or some may refer to this mic as an anvil micrometer. If you would please,
What is the neck wall thickness.?
Thank you
Have a great day.
Mine are all sized down and neck turned so I can't really tell you for sure but I am guessing right around .015 because I needed to neck turn all of mine because I have a tighter chamber and I noticed right away that when I fired a case I could not slide a bullet into the fired case because I was not getting enough neck expansion due to my chamber. So, I now just do a light skim turn on all my necks.....Just by chance does anyone know the neck wall thickness on 6.5 grendel Lapua brass.
I am looking into changeover to bushing die and mandrel for resizing in a attempt to bring down S/D
Wanted to get spare bushings if I ever get fortunate enough to snag Lapua brass.
Probably better chance of winning lottery!
Thank you.
