Snipershide Barrel Review

Seemed to go pretty well.

I was told my barrel performed near the top of all the barrels ever tested. Which was something like 20 or more.

Congrats.

Forgive me if this has been asked, or you've addressed this prior... But do you have any intention of building AR barrels in the future?

You’re going to be the new tactical star! Better get that building up! Maybe start interviewing help and another lathe!

I would imagine those results will sell some barrels:).

Funny thing is none of the people over on snipers hide seem to have any interest in anything that was posted there so far. I don't think I've had any orders at all maybe one or two. One of the members that posted questions did order a barrel.

Just letting everyone know that barrel was a nut barrel. At this time I do not make shouldered pre-fit barrels. If I do choose to make shoulder pre-fit barrels I'm not going to make them for $319 Which is the current rate for my nut barrel.

But the barrel in the test was a nut barrel.

This UR 6br nut barrel is shooting excellent. Ive been shooting 6BR for many many years and have shot almost 30 or more 6BR barrels. This barrel is shooting right up there with the best of them. Those of us that have tested god knows how many nut and shouldered barrels know good machine work and a good barrel....there is no accuracy difference between a nut or shouldered barrel. Thats facts....

Unfortunately there is a majority of people that just don't want to use gauges or 2 wrenches to install a nut barrel. They just want to put some grease on threads and torque a shouldered barrel on. While installing a nut barrel is very easy, I guess there are a lot of people out there that just don't want to do it or find it too difficult.

I told Brad, start selling these same barrels as shouldered prefits for the most consistent popular prefit actions out there and he would sell a ton of them... Zermatt/Bighorn TL3/Origins, Impact, etc.....

I think there are still lots and lots of people that still believe the lie that shouldered barrels shoot better.

Lots and lots.

And lots.

How about a regular 223 rem or Wylde.

I actually did a full 223 Wylde barrel nut vs shouldered 6 barrel testing and review a few years ago.. all 26" barrels on a TL3.... Lapua brass, 75 ELD and Varget and H4895.... shilen, bartlein, krieger, criterion and Green Mountain, Mullerworks all provided barrels for the testing. All barrels were 26" and cut with a 223 Wydle reamer

Guess what the most accurate barrel was in that test....a nut barrel... MW nut barrel.

Here is the initial test targets on the MW nut barrel in that test..

If I start making shouldered prefits they will be more like $499.
