Let's snivel about the heat.

Mississippi. No need to say anything else, 98° and 90% humidity. Picked 3 rows of peas in long britches and a tee shirt, my socks were soaked with sweat. It'll cool off in November in time for Thanksgiving,,,, I hope.
Lived their and worked there for a year. My memories are that eventually I got used to the heat and humidity. However I was young in my 20's and worked outside as a forester in the woods.

71-degrees inside my house. An even 72 at my indoor air rifle range. AC works great at 72 in my Dodge with a couple minutes warmup. Love the remote start...

Yeah, that graph really shows how the drought of the dust bowl period effected the over all US Heat Wave Index. But, it really doesn't say anything about global surface temperatures for that period. So, here's what that looks like:
Sure, let's zoom, out both geographically and temporally, for The Big Picture. I'm gratified we're still rebounding from the Little Ice Age!

Now let's look in more detail at Central Greenland ice core data. Here you can see "Present global warming" in context. "Unprecedented warming"? "Hottest day ever!"? Uh, ... nope.

I just wish everyone would move where it’s hot and humid so they don’t get cold and never scoop snow. Getting crowded around these parts. Cmon WINTER. Piss on summer.
