What seams to be the most popular caliber use today in 1K f class Open
I think people are still waiting for their reamers.Anybody see 7 PRC rifles on the line?
Its a popular round, I chamber a lot of them. But not for F-class. You will see a few Id guess just like you see a few 7-300 wsms. But thats about it in my bet.Anybody see 7 PRC rifles on the line?
Erik Shoots the 7PRCW designed by @Alex Wheeler and it's what he won Southwest Nationals and African Nationals with as well as the World Team Gold with.Erik Cortina built a rifle around the 7/6.5 PRC that he used to win the F-Class Nationals. He calls it the 7 FCP because an outfit named F-Class Products manufactures the tooling.
I believe you are mistaken, Erik has repeatedly said he's running the 7PRCW now and that it performs side by side with his ShehaneErik Cortina built a rifle around the 7/6.5 PRC that he used to win the F-Class Nationals. I stand corrected!I believe you are mistaken, Erik has repeatedly said he's running the 7PRCW now and that it performs side by side with his Shehane
Why would it be too big for f-open? Rules-wise or recoil?Yep the 7 PRC is borderline too big for F-Open but the 6.5-7 PRC is just right. Or as I call
it the 7 PRCW. I still have my 284 Shehane as a back up and use it from time to time as they are so similar
and use all the same components, its what many call the Easy Button.
Heat/barrel life. F Class is hard on barrels. And cartridges that are a good bit overbore for the speeds we like shoot tend to not agg as well. Why would it be too big for f-open? Rules-wise or recoil?
