I remember those days and still have some of them! MIL always cornbread to eat and always a good meal. She gets mad if you if do you don't eat something every time we go there. Won't let anyone leave without eating something and it's always good. Papaw had record player and lesson to Jerry Clower "knock him out John" ! We would gather as a family and have "supper" with all the fixin and set around and lesson to Jerry. Man the good times. Only 30 years ago in rual town nowhere. Papaw work 3rd shift in a coal mine( believe it or not not as bad as current battery mines). I get to wake him up in the afternoon to spend a couple hours with him until I had to go home. Man I miss him! Mamaw ( still alive and doing well) was hell on wheels if we missed behaved. Made me go get a "switch" and wore mine hind in out! I'd go get a branch, she would worn it out and then made me go get a " switch" love even more today!!!! Homemade fired apple pies and coconut cake is still her specialty! "HOG KILLIN" time of year was something special, fresh meat, and homemade biscuits! Wish I could roll time back!
