9X Fired Brass, 200 Yards Results - No Mandrel, No Annealing, No Neck Turning, No Tumbeling. Updated MOA

9X Fired - 6.5 Creedmoor Lapua Brass.

I wanted to shoot my 9X Fired Brass today because I recieved my delivery of brand new brass. This is the 10th firing with it. It has never been annealed or neck turned. I haven't used a mandrel or tumbled it.

5 shot group - .671" - .334 MOA

I see no reason to add unnecessary steps to your brass when you can get results like this from your 10th firing of 6.5 Brass.

Will be shooting 300 to 500 yards on Friday with the rest of my 9X Fired Brass. No reason to break out the new Lapua yet.

if you plan on measuring groups do not shoot on splatter targets...you can only guess where the holes start and stop. ya need nice clean holes to est bullet dia in the paper and then measure group

Was shooting at 200 yards.
Sorry - I missed that. It's right on the pic.

The point of my question was whether annealing would have any significant effect on groups at 100 yards. [I was assuming the .67 inch was at 100 yards.]

But, even at 200, I wouldn't expect a lot of effect of annealing to show up in groups - especially with a .38 MOA group!

Nice shooting!

I never get reliable sizing going that far without annealing.
One group is great if it’s a record setter, otherwise it’s just fluff.
As far as cleaning brass, I just wipe it clean before sizing and then wipe of lube with acetone on a rag.
Concerning neck sizing, i do a skim cut on my brass where I want the best ES I can get(ELR) and it’s pretty minor now with the improved brass currently available.
I’m not convinced it’s worth the squeeze for 95% of shooting anymore.

That group is actually a little smaller than that, you should measure center to center rather than edge to edge (unless you zeroed calipers with a bullet). But those targets are terrible for groups, especially if you want to use a ballistics app to map your groups. Good shooting.

What targets do you reccomend? I've always used these.
