Neck Turning with fired brass?

I want to do a second pass of neck turning on some fired brass. Is my only choice to use a straight F/L die, then an expander mandrel die?

Don't claim to be an expert, but that is how I would do it. A bushing die would leave a step. Depending on the fit of fired brass to your neck turn arbor, you may be able to do it freshly fired.

It would not be easy to fully restore neck shape, and good turning mandrel fit, once fired.
With this, I don't see how you could improve over initial turning.
You should never have to turn again

That's what I would do, use a FLS die then expand the neck of the once fired cases. Trim, chamfer then turn.

I use a K&M expander and don't see a problem doing this.

I assume that you have given your new brass a skim for the first firing then have to do most of the turning after it's fired for the first time.

I am just changing my own process, I used to turn brand new brass, now I prep the new brass, fire it then do the turning - but turn only once, using a FLS and expander, not a bushing die for the reason above.
