Who's got a new truck ?

Well a thing happened today....
I have never owned a truck for more than 5 years. My current truck was now at 14 years....
I was having little "gremlins" popping up. Nothing serious but it was just a matter of time before something happened.
I went up to have a "check engine light code" cleared and ended up driving home a very low mile 2020 GMC AT4 Duramax 3500.
This truck has EVERY OPTION possible. It also came with the updated factory bumper to bumper warranty to 150,000 miles with NO TIME LIMIT...WOW
My thanks to my friends at Seaview Chevrolet.

Well, l consulted the THIEVES about the most popular truck. lt seems Chevy 1500 is the top most stolen ''VEHICLE'' in the USA. #2 is Ford F150. Reading the list, lf you DON'T want your new truck stolen, get a Dodge
I wonder if the thieves give the electric cars a second look? lol.

Tommie. lt's kinda like a Colt/S&W/Ruger revolver thing. Or maybe a Browning/Winchester/Remington rifle thing.
Trucks, firearms, computers or dishwashers. Whatever. As far as I’m concerned any adult who gets butt-hurt when someone makes a negative comment about their favorite product might want to reexamine their life’s priorities.

I’m in the automotive service industry and have worked at GM, Ford and Dodge dealerships. Want to hear horror stories about your beloved brand of pickup truck? I have plenty to share. Pick your poison and move on.

I recently inherited(hand me down) my wife's 2010 Toyota Tacoma PU. 268,500 miles, no appreciable rust, new frame 2 years ago, runs strong, good gas mileage, no payment...what's not to like about that?
did they actually remove everything from one frame and replace it on another frame? or was the original frame just repaired?.

Ford didn't take a government handout, that was GM, not sure about Dodge/Chrysler.
Yep, we took it. And paid it back 100% and before the agreed upon date with the US government. It was in the best interest of the government not to let Chrysler fail. They helped us and I’m thankful they did because quite frankly, we are kicking ass the last 15 years. Just ask the Ford and GM guys where their light duty truck market share went?? I know the answer.

That it’s a TOYOTA. I love how Toyota calls their “cool” trucks the TRD….didn’t anyone tell them that is pronounced “TURD”??

Live in Detroit, and they wouldn’t ask that same question.
It’s like saying, I don’t know why these guys in Texas are passionate about oil? Or, not sure why these people WVA are so hung up on coal. Cars and Trucks run generations deep in Detroit. In my family, I’m 5th generation automotive employee. We have Ford, GM, Ram/Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler, and a few foreign ones I won’t mention. People in Detroit are super passionate about automobile manufacturers, even more so than than gun people with their favorite handgun, rifle or shotgun.

They've been doing it for YEARS!
These car companies should make sure the metal that they have pressed into panels is not some cheap pooph stuff from the chicoms or if not from that 4th world s hole at least cleaner stuff inside that they have been using. I'd buy a Ford with the non steel body but I've had my fill of Ford electrical, engine and transmission problems over the years. FORD, not an option.

I've had one new vehicle(mine not the wife's) and that was a 1975 Internationl Scout. Used that to hunt, fish, carry firewood, plow until 2001. Tough ol bird she was. That has been MY only new vehicle, all others used and I saved a bundle over the years. I've got the itch for a new vehicle but just can't make up my mind if a PU or suv.

The new 2024 model Tacoma’s will finally have a fully boxed frame. I have a 2013 4x4 base model with 21,000 miles. I had to let Toyota spray their cocktail on the frame last year or they wouldn’t warranty the current one. All the cocktail does is make the rust harder to see. I spray the inside of the frame twice a year with Fluid Film so I’ll be alright. 648C72A6-21B9-403F-B2C4-3E50CE24EB68.jpeg

If you do make sure to take your gun cases (especially if a Pelican 1720) and make sure it fits inside the SUV! My wife wants to trade again and I'm like "honey, if gas gets really bad price wise again I may need to borrow your ride to go in so doesn't it make sense to try my gun case in there?" LOL

l'm looking to buy my first full size NEW truck too. @ 77 l need comfort first. Reading this thread confirms what Daddy said about Dodge. He'd rather have a sister in a brothel than a ''Dodge''.
Riding in a friend's new truck confirms the need for the safety devices now standard for us older folk. l don't tow anything or haul heavy loads. l'm RETIRED!! My traveling consists of a couple shoots a month. The farthest being 160 miles
None of what you said makes any sense. I honestly can’t even discern what point you are trying to make, other than you and your father would likely both prefer that his sister (and your aunt) not be a prostitute.
