Borden single shot 6mm br/dasher action

Am planning a 600yd br or Dasher build for 600 yard matches. Have a 7.5 32" Brux coming. Which Borden action should I be looking at. This will most likely be the last build I'll be doing, age and everything considered..I know alot of guy's will say, just buy x, y, or z....cheaper and will do what you need to 600. But this is a dream build for me, and other than Bat, I won't consider anything else. Thank you for any input....rsbhunter

i have 2 brmxd's one is a drop port, but my latest is just a brm i think the diff is 1.35 vs 1.45 dia.
left ports right eject except for the dasher drop port.
either round will work for 600 as will the 6bra

Honestly, the only thing that the extra diameter gives you is weight, which may or may not be an advantage to you depending on the class you are shooting. But with the limited info given and your objectives, a BRMXD in 6BRA would be hard to go wrong with. Dasher would be my second choice. If you ever plan to go past 600, the Dasher over the BRA.
I defer to others..

Appreciate the info...our matches are steel plates @2,3,385 and 500 meters, about 1-1/2 moa, and have to be taken off the stand. Being in S.E. New Mexico, winds are normally pretty stiff, but I think the br configuration would work....still in the planning stage, so changes can be made....rsbhunter

Whatever you choose Borden action wise you will be good to go. I have a very basic Alpine single shot action. Do yourself a favor and have Jim time the trigger of your choice, to the action. Mine has the best firing pin drop of any action I have ever owned. Sounds like a fun project .

I am a Dasher Guy. Two 6 Norma Dasher F/Open Rifles. Built on 700 SA Blue Printed to Heaven. One Brux one Obermeyer R5 Barrels 1-7.5 30". They have and do Clean a 600 yard F/Class time and time again.

Just posted a Clean E-Target on What did you shoot Today.

That Paul Guy in the Post above did one of my Bolts! Work of Art.

Good Luck

honestly 6bra or dasher with 105/107/108
go with the horse power to move the steel.
the sleeper is the 6gt slightly bigger case (vol/longer)
go ask the prs guys..or there is 6gt group on facebook
if a timed event consider a drop port

If weight is of no issue/problem, a BRMXD is tough to top. I also have a BR in rblpre and a BRM drop port. His actions are my first choice but it's hard to go wrong with a Borden, Bat or a Kelbly. All great actions and they are proven actions with top resale value vs some other good actions out there. Jims stuff is right when you get it and are the best of the best IMHO. But as I said...there are other good actions. You can let Jim time it with the trigger when you order. He does a great job at it and they feel as close to perfect as any action I've ever dealt with when you get it. Can't go wrong just calling Jim Borden and talking with him.

I have three Borden actions. 2 BRMMF’s duel port’s and a BRM r-r. The Borden’s are great people to work with Jim will treat you right for sure. I absolutely love all three of my actions. They are serving me well. Two are 6BRA’s and one is a 6.5 x 47.

Some would argue that the several ounces in added weight is very much worth the added action stiffness. My 2 cents is that at 500 meters on steel most don't shoot well enough to ever notice. Go with what you can get the fastest.
