Who's got a new truck ?

2016+ rams are not what they used to be by any means.much much better vehicles.chevy and Ford have way to many problems with there newer trucks
Imo it's Ram or Toyota.ram trucks have always had best interior but transmissions have sucked but not anymore.
The ram diesel trucks with manual transmission have always been good but now the gas burners are great with automatic transmissions

2021 7.3L F250. 40k miles so far.

Great truck. Fuel economy is what it is, 14 mpg. Not much worse than my 2009 GMC with the 5.3l.

Get a TT truck at your peril. Some love them, some don't, most sell them before 150k miles. I'm a 300k miles kind of guy, and that's not a 3.5L TT hybrid IMHO. As always, YMMV.

They all cost the same now.no getting in a dodge cause it cost less.chevy and fords have to many valve train issues and transmission problems on newer trucks.i know it's tough to sink in but rams are jam up trucks now

Do they still have that stupid knob on the dash for a shifter? They might as well just put in a Monotrol pedal like a Hyster forklift.

All kidding aside, I really do hate that shifter knob enough to never buy one.

I finally after 40k decided I like it.its out of the way no shifter to accidentally hit.makes more room.
And if you do accidentally twist it no harm you can twist it back to drive or come to stop and it will flash until you put it into gear or park.finally decided I really like it.lol

I'm looking for a new full size P/U truck.

Who's got a new one .... how do you like it and what did you have before.

I am leaning towards a Tundra or a GMC Sierra, but have not done any research as of yet.

Lemme' know

Thanks
Ram 1500 is really tough to beat. The interior is so nice and the ride is incredible.

I had one as a company truck for 3 or 4 years and I never did like it, but I was still driving my Ford a lot. Both were 2014s and overall I liked the Ford a lot better.

For what it's worth
Dave Smith motors in Kellogg ID.
Cheby or Dodge is up to you.
I've saved thousands compared to local.
Check'm out out for yourself and make a conscious decision.
But remember lil boys wear bow ties and big boys RAM it!!
Brett,
You just let me know the next time you buy a Ram and I’ll make sure you get my discount code. The Rams are so nice now and we just started building the new 25MY pilots at the plant last month and they are off the charts nice.

The diesel light duty Ram truck ceased production at the end of March 2023. Might be really hard to find a new Ram 1500 with a diesel engine. The 3.0L diesel still gets way better mpg compared to the 5.7L hemi.

17’ Ram Cummins. Extended warranty put a brand new transmission in at 84k. I pulled a small 2 horse trailer 6X and the brand new transmission died at 97K. Dodge just rebuilt that one 3 months ago. Hope it lasts. Stay away from any Dodge with the 68RFE transmission.

It is the worst time in my entire life to buy a new vehicle. It was the best time a year or two ago to be selling a used vehicle. My 2019 RAM 2500 Big Horn Cummins was just under $49k out the door from the only dealership in TX that didn't add the 'dealer pack' bullsh*t. Otherwise, expect to pay $3k-$5k for that execrement. Now, my truck -- 2023 edition -- would be $70k.

Very few dealers here in the Hill Country, of any brand, are selling at MSRP. Most are over. It's annoying as hell, and the politicians are to blame. The new normal sucks. Let's go Brandon!

Fortunately my 2014 chevy has not given me to many problems. I've got 140k on it and still running strong.
All kidding aside the last dodge I test drove was back in the early 2000. I just couldn't stand the seats. I'm sure they have came along way.
I highly doubt I buy another vehicle until this one totally gives out. I just hate all the dam safety crap they are putting In all vehicles.

Brother at the price of new trucks I'm gonna drive this 14 till the wheels fall off.
I fixed and painted the side of a 21 bout 2 Mos ago....
Every time I climbed into it I thought this could be mine, as tempting as it was I chose my 14 with $0000 payment.
For you blue oval "Freakin Okies Really Dig'm" crowd, F250' ain't cheap.
F250's @85k with 350''s pushing $100k, shit that's 1/3 my freakin mortgage!!

Conscious decision

We buy RAMs 2500 gas now. I have over 60 units on the road. Payload over 9,000lb plus a trailer that weighs 7k. Before we purchase ford f250. More issues with the ford's. Not a fan of the Fords. Hemi engine seems to hold up more than the Fords. I will say front suspension on Ram have had issues. But the Fords suspension in the rear gave the most issues. we have to install air bags on them.

Would a f-350 solve the rear suspension issue?

My 2014 GMC just rolled 272,100 with all original problem free running gear. 4x4 with many many miles or dirt logging roads. Tough one.

I just added 4 ram 1500s to our work truck inventory. All of them have Hemi’s, one Laramie and 3 classics. No Etorque, just straight Hemi’s. You should look under the hood of a current 1500 Hemi sometime, you may be pleasantly surprised to see an engine space that is not all cluttered up, almost looks like something out of the carburetor days, almost. We’ve tried most of the major lines of trucks and just go with rams now. The creatures comforts in that Laramie are ridiculous. My 2017 3500 Cummins is approaching 300k on the odometer and I’ve zero issues with it and several other Rams over the last decade. These trucks get used hard, lots of miles, lots of pulling, lots of work.

If I’m buying for the company I typically buy new for tax reasons, if it’s a personal truck I’ll hunt the used market, still get a tax break but….. Todays vehicle prices are insane. The Ram I really want is the high grade TRX, lol, that’s not happening.
