Tikka super varmint 223

Yeah man, you’ll love it. I have the T3X varmint, pretty much the same rifle. 1/2 moa and better all day with my handloads. Highly recommend the trigger spring upgrade. Mine pulls 12oz. with it. Also recommend the blobsled for the mag. The Tikka mags are stupid (223 at least). Can’t load ’em long, maybe a fuzz longer than an AR mag. Mountain Tactical can hook you up on those upgrades. MT were supposed to come out with their Gen 2 223 mags that’ll let you load long. But been waiting a few years after speaking with them so not holding my breath. Shoots fantastic with 52’s -77’s. 55 Blitzkings and N140 are crazy good. Shot a 5/8 and 3/4in @200yds yesterday with some 77smk and good ole’ Varget. You will NOT be disappointed.

Nice groups !!! Are the trigger springs hard too install?
It probably won’t need the trigger spring. I like a light trigger but my tikka t3 22/250 is damn scary how light it will go and how crisp it is. If I shoot it on the norm it’s no big deal but if I play with other rifles and go back to it the first shot always go off before I want lol. I’ll also add I have owned 1 other t3 in 260 rem and felt a few others none of which would go down as light as my rifle would for what ever reason. Don’t know if it was a caliber thing or a change or 2 they made through the years

With a tikka the actions are the same length. The only difference between larger calibers and smaller calibers are the bolt stop/bolt release and the magazine. I had a t3 in 260 rem. And could not get the bullet to reach the lands so all that was required was a magazine from tikka and a bolt stop/bolt release. Tikka mags are great just pricy if I remember right.

Ok thanks again

I hit the lands at 1.926 BTO or 2.326 OAL with the smk 77s. Way too long for the factory mag. With the 69 & 77 smk I load them 3 thou off. I’ve seated them touching down to 2.255. While the Sierras didnt mind the jump, my SDs improved closer to the lands. Now the 55 Blitzking and Gamekings I’m at 2.260 OAL. Couldn’t load those long if I wanted to, but the 2 most accurate loads so far.
I’m not exactly sure what DLT is saying. Changing your bolt stop will not allow you to load a longer round in the magazine. Maybe the 260 will take another mag from Tikka that allows you to load long, thereby needing a new boltstop? The Tikka mags are fine but they feel a little cheap. Aftermarket mags are few and far between. The few that I have seen (can’t remember their names, one was in Australia) were more than I was willing to spend. Loading length has been a common complaint with the factory 223 mag. So it’s spend $160 for an aftermarket mag or $20 on a bobsled and single feed.
