6XC SRP or LRP

If your shooting lrp brass use large rifle primers if your shooting srp use small rifle magnum primers. I found srp brass the regular small primers dont have quit the umf for optimum ignition for accuracy. For some reason I really don’t find magnum primers in lrp brass that optimal for accuracy either.

Of course we are not in the real cold climates but in the winter here I'm getting real good results with my custom build 260AI using the SRP lighting up as much as 48.0 gr. of H-4831 and 45.0 gr. of H-4350 with great accuracy.

205m’s work great.

Lower es/sd in my tests on my current barrel.

I don’t think there’s a hard fast rule, test it yourself, always, with everything.

I have both SRP brass and LRP brass and they both shot the same as has been said above. I am currently shooting the SRP brass because LRPrimers are hard to come by. I use LRP in my hunting loads but it doesn’t get far below the 20’s around here much.

I would say they are largely interchangeable but for LR I have moved over to small primers. That's mostly in the hope of getting a couple more loads per case. Performance wise, I don't see much difference. Rem 7 ¹/² and cci 450s work excellent.
The only time I've blanked primers was in palma loads with varget and 205m primers.
I do use some formed 22-250 cases and they have large primers and no problems there either.
