What is your favorite 6mm bullet for Prairie Dogs?

I will use this in a 6 TCU. Have used 80 grain Nosler Varmint, but am a bit disillusioned with the accuracy.

87gr Vmax works well on them in my 6br. So does a 75gr vmax.

My favorite so far is the Hornaday 105 Amax. It the only 6mm bullet I've used so far. I may try the 87 Vmax .

I'm sure your using a rifle if you have a slow twist barrel my nod is for the 65gr Vmax. I shoot this bullet in a T/C pistol 14 inch 6mm TCU with 1-12 twist. For my larger cased 6mm pistols I like the Speers 75gr HP. The large HP gives good expansion at pistol velocities on groundhogs and is plenty accurate enough for me to take 200 yard shots with a low field of view pistol scope.

I have a 6 TCU, like running 70 gr BTs. Due to lack of availability I am going to load 70 gr TNTs next.

70 gr BTs drop wood chucks right there. I have not tried them on prarie dogs, would like too get out west this year.

55gr nosler or a 58gr vmax in 223 sized 6mm cases. Get the velocity up makes for a better show at closer ranges.

What range are you focusing on? Would make a difference on bullet weight.

Hornady 87 gr V MAX. for out to 600 yards. Hornady 105 gr for long distance.

Rifle or pistol?
I have used several 55-58 grain bullets in my 6TCU rifle, accuracy is ok but not great in mine. The 65 Vmax did a lot better. Speer70gr TNT, excellent accuracy if you can find them. I use AA2200, LC brass. I can get away with a CCI 400, though it will show pressure in some rigs, go to a 450 or 71/2 and no worries.
AA2200 gives me speed and good usable accuracy in my rifle.

Berger 88gr Flat based varmint. Takes them out, both near and far.

I’ve had good luck with 80 grain Sierra’s #1515, I use them in my 6mmx223. Accurate and deadly.
