Like body taper, case neck taper helps extraction.

P.S. If you check the Creedmoor SAMMI specs, you'll see there's no taper to the neck. That, and having the throat correct in the SAMMI specs, is the main reason that factory guns chambered for that round are pretty good shooters, across many manufacturers.

Tapered cases are dependent upon straight cases to make more tapered cases.

Those are not tapered.

Was it the Jaco neck turner that turned tapered necks on cases? Charles E from BRC I believe used one and so did others.

You're right. The chamber is that way on the 6.5 - the 6 is straight.
