360Buckhammer

Looks like a .357 maximum just a little bigger. Seems like they try to invent the wheel when the older cartridges do just fine.

No new sales in that. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that if a company like Winchester wanted in on this action they'd come up with something similar instead of chambering and promoting their own .375 or even .38-55. Or Marlin the .444

I wonder if you would be able to use this round in the states where they are allowing straight wall cartridges now? I bet it would be a good one.

True, however how many mainstream rifle manufacturers chamber the 357Max?

That's true. Plus it's a fair bit smaller, I'd think they'd have to stick to the original 40k pressure max and the original chamber spec with that funky throat. No thanks. It's a great round as a custom chambering but with the factory limitations, starting over with a clean slate is a better way to go IMO.

Too bad they couldn't have just come out with a 1.8" long .357 Super Max. Could still shoot 357max/360 DW/357mag and 38 special for plinking. Run pressures in the Super Max. up to 50K pressure or a bit higher. That would have been a hot rod!!

Sorry guys but this cartridge is a home run. Existing 30-30 platforms can easily be chambered in the 360 Buckhammer. This chambering is a no-brainer.

I really dislike the name but whatever, I love the 35 Rem and hunt almost exclusively with single shots. So a rimmed case similar to a 35 Rem is all good with me. Doubtful I'll buy one since I have a 35 Rem I'm happy with but depending on what rifles end up being chambered for it that could change.

357 shoulderless Herret. The original needed an update after 50 years.

Hopefully Remington supports the cartridge. Not exactly new and innovative, but most people that are fond of rimmed cartridges, will over look that.
Nice to see something a bit different.

Big thank you to Henry for stepping up.

Change a little here and a little there, throw some kind of catchy and and hope for the best. Will see if Remington got rid of their old marketing ideas.

If henry is the only one making them, ya won’t ever see one in my rack. Sorry, the looks and hands on feel of them just don’t feel right or balance for me.

+1^^^ Personally I don't think this Buckhammer will do a lot to help rebuild Remington. There are already enough "straight walled" cartridges out there to fill the niche market this cartridge is after. JME. WD

And what some states consider “primitive” is crazy. A single shot with a hammer, bullet diameter of .??? and a case length of. ?.???

Then there are the shotgun only states. So some really great slug guns were built to accommodate them, which is great. I have seen and shot a few and was really impressed y several at the accuracy. But, if they were worried about “high power” rifle cartridges, anyone ever seen how far a shot gun slug will skip, bounce and ricochet?
