Best top for 4” stock in BR?

I have a Farley standard top (billet) with an all leather 4” Edgewood bag.
I don’t feel (no data to prove it) there is enough sand in the ears. When filled up, I get vertical, when I let out some sand, the ears are half empty after a few targets……. But the vertical is gone.

I know there are a bunch of the LRB stocks out there, what rests, bags, are folks using?

I’m pondering the 4” top made by Lenzi for the Farley rest.

I have a super soft 3” all leather bag filled with screened playground sand that works amazingly well with a couple of rifles in this Farley. Just trying to get the same results with the wider stock.

I've got a 4" Protektor made out of Cordura that has the thicker ears. I like the thicker ears better too but can't keep the sand in them, it all migrates to the center.

I've got the Edgewood seb style 2 piece "L" shaped bags on a Randolph top that i run the 6" panda on. They are much better at keeping the sand where you want it and mine is set up to go down to 4" as well.
I'm still running the 1 piece skinny eared 4" Edgewood bag on different Randolph top because i dont want to move the 6" set up down to 4" since it would take some trial and error getting them centered up every time they got moved.

Dave.....A little trick that works on my 4" bag, same as yours. This works
if your fore end is railed. With the bag out of the rest, manipulate the
bag so that you form a groove in the center of the bag. Wrap 2 zip ties
around the bag and in that groove. My Protektor bag has a wide leather
bottom so I punched holes in them to clear the ties. Again your fore end
should be railed, but may work if center is deep enough if some sand is
removed. Sometime shortly, I want to have made a a one piece bag with a
lowered center. It would only make sense and surely do wonders for fore-
ends that are not railed.....Make them ties tight.

Not in the Farley cradle.

Not with a 3,4,5,6” setup yet but I have been struggling with an 8” setup.

Railgun would seem to be the logical answer to the make it wider....wider...wider group. This is not directly aimed at you Jason but at the whole wider group. Why not 18 inches? Seems there is no end. Boy I bet 18 inches or so would bring in the shooters. I see it as self destruction .

Ya got me crackin' up.....LOL I just put the snow shovel out on the
front porch. A little duct tape and that shovel would do the trick.

No. That was a very limited run. Not sure they ever even made it to the website. It was to allow Farleys to accept Sinclair Comp size bags. I think.

I sent these to Edgewood several years ago. Also asked about having each of the ears have their own fill chamber so the sand won't migrate.

I thought about the seperate chambers at one time for the 4" but when I saw Curt Knitt's seperate L shaped bags with a width adjustable top to accommodate my 6" set up I knew I wanted to go that route.
Worked well for me last season.
