I can’t be the only one

I bought some hornady unique sizing wax to give a try. While in the store I read the container and it said to use on leather boots….. my wheels started turning and I cracked the lid, to my surprise it looks and smells like good Ol mink oil. I noticed the texture ain’t far off either. Has anybody else wondered the same or even tried sizing a case with mink oil ? Surely it’s been thought of before.

I have used feibing snow proof to size and for neck turning lube off and on for a couple of years. It does as good as anything else I've tried.

I having using redding imperial wax for years. I just recently tried franford case lube spray. If you clean the die first and spray some inside the die, before spraying on the brass, it works surprising well. First read instruction on bottle. I did not when I first tried it and got two stuck cases.

I’ve been using the tub of Hornady sizing wax for about 15 years. I’ve never had issues getting suck cases while using it. It’s been brought up here in the past, that it appears to be the same as mink oil.

If I read the Hornady site correctly, they have 2 different products: A wax (competing with Imperial, I assume) in a metal tin, and their Unique lube (in a plastic tub.) Never tried, nor seen, the Unique.

I bought some of the Hornady wax to melt into a smaller tin to keep in the die box to neck size at the range (couldn't get Imperial at the time); it seems to work as well as Imperial in the sizing department, but it (in my experience) degrades a bit if you lube a bunch of cases and set them aside for couple of days before actually sizing. The Hornady is also a "stiffer" formulation than Imperial (more towards the candle spectrum than Imperial's tending towards a really thick grease consistency.)

RCBS lube and their pad. 1st pad wore out and got dirty after about 25 years. I’m on the second pad now and I think the 3rd bottle of their lube.
So far, 60+ years, it’s worked just fine.
I haven't been at it nearly as long but +1 for the RCBS lube and case pad. I'm still using the same one my dad used in the '70's.
