So my wife wants my 308

As alredy mentioned..they will all be her's in time anyway....just plan on teaching her to reload and
you can both start shooting F-Class or Benchrest or at least really get involved ....seeing as the cars are paid for already....youl have the budget part resolved sorta....kinda....lol :D

I want to get into serious competitions. I've been shooting rifles for a year now. I'm really into reloading. I just bought the 650 page Dillon reloading book to expand my knowledge. I'm going to do some shooting tomorrow if the weather permits starting at 500 yards with the 308. Guage my bullet drop, get a better feel for long distance wind conditions, etc. I just want to learn everything I can and apply it.

I also have the added benefit of being able to shoot every day, which I do, at one of the biggest and most beautiful ranges in the country.

Plus, the invaluable knowledge I gain from everyone on here.

My wife recently got bit by the rifle bug. She loves shooting my 308. She wants to go with me every day. I don't mind I love the company.

However, she wants my Savage Arms 10/110 Precision

She said if I give it to her she will buy me a Savage Arms Arms 110 Elite chambered in 6mm Creedmoor.

Suggestions.
Lol…and she thought every time you “went to the range”, that you were running off to see some little hottie. Give her your 308 immediately. If your wife is into shooting and has the bug, it makes spending money a whole lot easier. Haha.

Yeah. I'm really excited she is so into it and is a natural. He father, who passed, was a police officer, and used to take her shooting. I had no idea that it would transform into the skill she has. We talked tonight and we are going to join a league in March. I also want to get her into some competitions. Beautiful and loves guns. Can't beat that.

You always give the wife,... exactly what she wants...she likes to go shootin with you ..and not shootin At you....great! You have the world's best companion. Teach her how to shoot well, even out shoot you..don't bog her down with inferior ammo or equipment, or macho man attitude... she may really get into it...if she does, you never know where or when the next great shooter will appear on the scene...and you, gentlemen, could be part of that equation, don't leave the females at home, if they show interest in your shooting sport.

Since you got the $ to play and judging by your Wife's pic, you guys aren't GEEZERS yet, and you have access to a good range and comps. I suggest taking a serious look at PRS shooting. I wish that game was around & I had gotten into it about 40yrs ago.......Have fun.

Rick

If your going to enable her, then go whole hog!
Build that 408 Cheytac or 416 Barrett and let her be the new Queen Of 2 Miles!

My wife HATES shooting paper!
She becomes extremely bored by consistently shooting smaller groups than me.
Give her steel targets though, and i'm busy reloading for a week trying to catch up on the ammo she shot!

I'm trying to get her used to the fact she is allowed (even though i encourage her to) to change the settings on the scope.
So i bought her a rifle of her own. I tell her it's HER rifle & scope, do with it what she will.
But she's found she likes my 7mm Rem Mag better than her 223 Rem.
She likes the impact it makes on steel better, especially at 300 yards & better.

I may have to take her to one of the Long Range steel matches that @jghoghunter has!

I second that!
I think she also needs a nice 223 bolt action, an AR, a 6.5x47 and a couple nice pistols!
My youngest Daughter is about that age, her favorite hunting rifle is her 300 weatherby mag. She’s also the one that raided my safe and took home my( her) new Kimber 1911…

Trades???

Lol, jk

My wife has claimed a few of my firearms over the years. A custom 222 truck gun, a tikka 6.5x55, a tricked out 10/22 and yesterday she claimed my Rock River AR9. She has a lot of patience with the whole gun thing, never gives me problems, so when she wants one it makes me happy she likes the hobby. Gives me an excuse to replace it.

Lucky man. My used to shoot with me occasionally, at least enough to keep the skill set of handling a pistol. But for some reason she quit, just won't go. It worries me in case she ever needs to use it.

Not knowing what you look like, my brother would say “you definitely outkicked your coverage”….lol
