I machined the ID of the bushings to the exact size of the barrel, and the OD to the bushing to the exact size of the barrel block‘s bore.
That is another reason I took a light cut over the barrel’s OD, to insure it was truly straight.
Barrel Blocks with non-metallic isolator bushings a common in Rail Guns now, but I really do not know how others are fitting theirs. The way I did it just seems logical from a machinist viewpoint.
