I don't believe too much of anything the "mainstream" media reports. But I think that it is a serious problem if our ammo resources are depleted.

No great mystery! Eggs have risen in price drastically all across the West this year for at least two reasons (three in the UK and Europe).
1) Bird Flu (origin China - where else?) outbreaks that have seen millions of farm birds either catch it or be slaughtered to stop the spread. I see you have it in the US too.

2) Large rises in the cost of feed grain. Putin's 'Special Military Operation' into Ukraine and the Black Sea blockade of Odesa stopped the export of cereals. These amounted to 48.5 million tonnes over the 20/21 season (compared to 70 million from the US, the world's largest exporter). Although Russia has relaxed its blockade on humanitarian grounds to protect third world countries, this year's exports are still running at under half the usual level, and the 22/23 Ukraine harvest will be massively down because of the war. This has left a big hole in world supplies, and global cereals commodity prices have risen substantially which impacts on your poultry farmers as much as it does Europe's.
3) Energy costs. This likely doesn't affect your producers nearly as much as ours, but gas and electricity prices have tripled, or risen even more at times, to poultry and egg producers on our side of the Atlantic. As much egg production is indoors and energy intensive, this is a major cost increase.
Many UK producers have given up and shut down as they can't recoup their costs now. That and the Bird Flu have reduced supply and also increased prices.

3 bucks a dozen from my farmer friend. Up from 2 bucks a year ago.
Better get you some chickens if you don't have them already............this going to get worse....not better.
BTW.......If everything goes down, a chicken egg will be worth more than gold. You can't eat gold.....and a lot of folks won't want gold either. It attracts all sorts of trouble when things get really bad. Ask what Communist Democrat President Roosevelt did about gold.........then tell me how safe gold is.
