NRA "American Rifleman"

This is new! I get that the NRA is always trying to promote themselves and trying to get people to give them more money. But this is the first time that I have not been able to actually get to the "American Rifleman" magazine (see attachment)1671581404076.png. I tired a number of time and was unable to get beyond the page asking for donations (what NRA has become). I've been an NRA member for as long as I can remember, but I am not sure how much long I will be.

Lost interest in the mag. No articles on bench rest or varmint hunting. 90% of the articles are actually paid adds to sell handguns, rifles, knives and coins.

The AMERICAN RIFLEMAN has suffered a significant deterioration that began thirty or more years ago. No more technical staff and few good articles. The magazine hasn't had a decent editor in a very long time. As the NRA struggles with it's priorities, whatever they may be, the once great magazine has taken a backseat and has become little more than a 9mm journal and a place to find overseas brides.

I've been an NRA life member for well over forty years and began a membership sixty years ago. The AMERICAN RIFLEMAN was among the top two or three gun magazines of that era and among it's staff were some of the very best writers.

Maybe my library of AR will be worth something. Have complete from the early 50’s-84/85.
Have a handful of earlier.

Still is as far as I'm concerned. Trends if firearms and ammunition require keeping up with things for readers. I find the AR a great balance in reporting on anti gun efforts and old and new arms. JMO.

I dont belong to the NRA for the magazine and Im a life member. I wouldnt care if it was little newspaper and they spent the money they saved to protect the 2nd amendment. Doug
Each to his own. IMO its an important way for the NRA to communicate with its members on a vast array of 2nd amendment issues and to keep them informed on cutting edge firearms and ammo developments, As well, it looks back in time to firearms used in the various conflicts that have helped defend freedom. I really appreciate it and am not in favor of its demise. Thanks

I told them no magazine and cut all the junk mail. It has worked pretty well for me.

Life member, but I haven't received the AR in about 20 years
@ rockhound,..
When I moved to my smaller, Retirement House,.. they kept sending, Issues to, the OLD Address for, a couple of Years ! I had to Call them, TWICE to, get it sent to,.. the Correct Address.
Give them a Call as, somebody ELSE is, enjoying, your AR issues !

I "read" the mag, usually takes about 45 minutes. Other than the occasional article about "the guns of...(fill in the blank for which war)", there is little of interest to me.

Question though. With Precision Shooter long gone, where does one go for solid info in print? I read and search the various forums on this site and watch/save those of interest, but is there any printed mag out there any more?

I've been a member for 40 years. The AR isn't what it used to be. Too many "send money" pleas and weak articles that are of no interest to me. I get mad over the corruption in the NRA. Yup, I said it. And you all know it too. I won't give more money so Wayne can buy another Italian suit or fly private for family vacations.

Wayne Lapierre ruined it for me. Too many corporate scandals, over spending, etc.

I will gladly spend my hard earned money to support gun rights, but not the NRA.

your reading it right now....Its right here....

Plenty of people fail to spend money on gun organizations and internet gun sites.

Then wonder what happened......
