Beretta Moving to Tn.

Beretta has announced plans to close it's 37 year old manufacturing center in Maryland. It's moving 300 jobs to Gallatin, Tennessee. This is in response to Gov. Martin O'Malley's, and the liberal Maryland Legislature's anti gun policies. All of you loyal NRA members can read about it in this month's American Rifleman on page 28.

Good, the govenator of maryland should be proud just like remington leaving Illion Ny. These guys just plain suck.

Keep your eyes open on Martin O'Malley. He's a likely candidate for Dem. Pres. in 2016. Never seen agun that he liked or a tax that he hates. He was greatly responsible for our "rain tax". Taxes on paved surfaces and roof area. True!

I'm happy to see gun manufacturers moving to gun friendly states. I hate that is what it has come to but it will be healthier and most likely cheaper tax wise. I doubt Tenn will tax the rain like Maryland.

Jeremy, They may have. I thought they announced they was going to build a new plant elsewhere, not so much up and leave...I would have guessed that, kinda like what Remington will be doing.

What the heck is a rain tax.Can you describe how that works please?

Basically it is a water runoff tax... The more pavement, concrete, roofing area you have, the more water runoff into the bay, the more you get taxed for your runoff...

Can the employees transfer? For those that can't, they will be the real losers. Trying to find a job in manufacturing in the northeast is almost an impossible task.

OMG, and the politicians there thought this up all by themselves, without the help of any CA politicians?

I believe that the majority of Maryland legislators have direct lines to California legislators. They just yesterday passed "The Transgender Fairness Act". That gives transgender folks the freedom to use which ever rest room they want, in public places.

Beretta considered Va. at one time but settled on Tenn.

Eddie- When I come to Thurmont matches in the future, I'll have to add another item to my equipment list.........mace :(.
How much will the registration fee go up if I erect my canopy and tent for the Bud Pryor tournament in order to cover this new MD tax? Do I have to pay it only if it rains?
Beam me up Scotty.....the crazies are takin' over this place!

Maybe we need more like this one.
