Digiscoping at 300 yards

George Cabrera
These videos are from our Winter Varmint match this past Saturday, at MRPC Cincinnati, OH.

Playing around with a new spotter and learning some video post processing (very crude). I have shortened the videos, so the intervals between shot to shot are longer that represented.
The match is at 300y and had the spotter+camera set up near by my side and zoomed at 60x, so each shot shook the image quite a bit.

Sight-in period, two red dots on the left side:

First half of the match, two left targets:

Second half of the match, two right targets:

Very light wind but straight in your face and switchy.
Promise to post on windy days as well ;-)
Enjoy!

Very Cool !!!

Couple questions if you don't mind:
- what "spotter camera" are you using?
- what caliber & bullets were you shooting?

Thanks for sharing @gcabrera

Thank you.

As a spotter I used a Vortex Razor 20-60x85mm (gen 1), and an iPhone 11 as digicam.
And then this bracket to hold them together:

The caliber is 6BR, using Berger 90gr boatails over a healty dose of H4895.
Krieger barrel 1:10”.

After the command of commence fire, in that moment of solitude the outcome boils down to strategy, of which an important part is when to shoot and when to hold …. and wait and wait.
Being able to review the match afterwards may offer further insights of what you could have done different. Maybe.
Another tool, another toy.

George,
When we meet at Logan County again, I would expect you to have some sort of tool developed to tell us when to engage! Great stuff from a genius like yourself.
See you soon,
Vern Thornburg

Look who is talking!
Vern, when you speak I pay serious attention (not joking). I have learned from you a couple of things for sure.
Yes, the tool I’ll develop will have a disclaimer that reads “use at your own risk” :)

Looking forward to next year shooting season, Tack Driver III still rings in my ears. If only global warming could shorten this winter!
