Ill have to show you a pic. Just think of a picatinny rail that bolts to a picatinny rail. Added weight where you need itSorry Dusty - I’m a little unclear what you’re talking about. Forgive my ignorance.
Ok - I’ve seen picatinny risers on ARs, but you’re talking about something canted and made of something heavyIll have to show you a pic. Just think of a picatinny rail that bolts to a picatinny rail. Added weight where you need it
Well I can certainly manage to hold 0.0005” on a good lathe with a little sandpaper, scotch-brite, and polish for far less than $155 a bar, depending on material and processing requirements.
I work with A2 a lot and it is excellent, though 17-4 in the H900 temper at 44HRc is also much harder than Remington receivers and it won’t rust. But I’m open to make it from any alloy the consensus agrees is best.
I’d be happy to make someone of some experience a set (e.g. @Dusty Stevens) at material cost if they’d vouch for the quality to the other members.

Love that idea, Dusty! I’ll put it down in the “doable and desirable” column.Yes. Think of this, made better, from bronze or brass or something heavier. Then make it in different cants. View attachment 1384585
I’m open to make some 5pc sets .7010-.7030 in 0.0005” steps, should be able hold a couple of tenths - got some hard-turning equipment in and the heat treat oven purring for some action. A2 or D2 is the likely winner for wear-resistant tool steel that’s simple to heat treat, but I’m open to using something a little different, if anybody has a particular recommendation.I haven't trued up a factory action for awhile but I'd be interested in a set of bars if you or 338 Mollett decide to make a run of them.
I have a couple bars I turned and polished to size on my lathe but if would be nice to have a hardened ground set if the cost is feasible.

Just thinking about an addition - steel rail with a center hole reamed for tungsten carbide weights….that would pack on the pounds.L

Love the offer - Thank you! I’d like to chat with you privately about a modular version, perhaps.Heres some the x-caveman made a few years ago. I can give you some suggestions when you get closer to making them to make them better.
Bench rest stocks for Savage 3 screw actions ?? Other then
that how about someone making LRP's ??![]()
Not bad - throw some pinstripes, flames, and a “Jack” playing card on there with hydro graphics and you’ll win every time…At least if it shoots bad....you look good doing it! LOL
I’m thinking that this will be in 2 parts. The part that attaches to the stock will have a hole on top and for the bottom will be a slot for the screws which takes care of the screw spacing on the stock. The part where the rubber buttpad attaches to will have one hole predrilled and one to be drilled by the end user to match their buttpad of choice and use self tapping screws. Length can be cut and shape by the end user once fitted. As far as how the two are connected and adjustment, thinking in lines of picatinny qd release.Love that idea! Something with McMillansPackmyer? screw spacing?

To add to this is the bag rider previously requested and be on the part that screws on the stock. Butt plate with vertical adjustment and bag rider combo.Great idea!
Look up the benchrest trotline. Its been done and deemed illegal. Bart has oneA set of wind flags with Kestrel style wind meters that would blue tooth real time wind speed and direction
to a phone or tablet, and an app that would add the data and give an honest moa hold over value.
Used only for practice, of course. Would be a great learning tool for new shooters.
