An Italian ammunition producer on Tuesday announced the expansion of its manufacturing operations in Little Rock with a $41.5 million investment that will add 120 new jobs at the Port of Little Rock.
Fiocchi Group, a global manufacturer of defensive, target and hunting ammunition, will build on 281 acres at the port, an expansion that will nearly double the company's employment in Little Rock. The new operation will produce primer supply for the broader ammunition manufacturing segment.

I just wonder if this is in addition to the other plant they broke ground on and never built? They decided to open up in another small building after the last announcement, or if this was our outgoing governor re-announcing the plant trying to get votes for his presidential ambitions?

I vaguely remember some chatter about reduced shelf life or something.

No sir this revolves around the port in little rock. My office is there so i keep a keen eye on whos doing what. Fiocci broke ground a few years ago and havent even mowed the grass since. CZ did the same

Im pretty sure all primers are lead free- for many years. The lead syphnate was replaced i do believe

I will say fiocci broke ground and at the same time during the mass shortage at least set up temporary shop at an abandoned building on 145th st. They at least are running now

Every shortage creates opportunities.

Now we just need someone to make a bullet plant to make jackets. I'm kind of surprised no one has jumped on that one.

Sitting here reading this post my almost worn-out pea brain is trying to get the gears moving. It has finally generated a little question. If Foicci comes to fruition on this and builds some great primers...Will the other primer-producing companies magically start flooding us with their primers?

They could flood the market any time they want. The river is flowing like a flood, but the river has been diverted upstream.

While Federal makes their new lead-free primers for internal use, they continue to advertise that the primers they sell as components use lead styphnate.

I gotcha. I knew there was something. Maybe its mercury im thinking of

With the current high price and shortage of primers it seems like a good move, hopefully they can get the parts and labor to get it done. Supply chain seems to affect everything, even my taxidermist pushed his time from 12 to 18 months as they haven't been able to get the forms for the heads.
