Thanks, my problem was not being able to get enough in the case. How long is your overall loaded round?

Just over 3.5"

Thanks. That is the reason you can use so much powder. Mine maxed out at 3.42". So, you will need a very long throat.
I don't recall seeing data for that length cartridge in the manuels that list heavy loads of slow powder such as RL22.
I should have done more homework before chambering my rifle.

Have your barrel throated for the heavies.
I went .170" in my standard 06 chamber.

Thanks, but I sold the barrel. If I get another, I will throat properly.

Anybody have a pet load for their 30-06 Ackley pushing 210 Bergers? Just threw one together and I have a couple hundred Bergers laying around. Thanks!
