Shot maker electronic system

Anybody know where to get a Shot Marker targeting System before Christmas? I would like to get one for my grandson.

Ordered one in July when they had 4-8 wks lead time. 8 wks had gone no email, then 12 wks had gone. Last time I checked their website, lead time is 16 wks. Still waiting and I’ll know when mine is on the way when I get an email with a tracking number.

How accurate is the ShotMarker? I am on the list to get one. Is it worth the money? I am primarily a benchrest shooter. Is it accurate enough for that type of shooting for load development?

I have done some extensive testing of the SM system at 100/200/300/600 yards for the XTC application and found it to be adequate for load development and practice for that application. It requires careful attention to detail for XTC competition but is now generally accepted for that discipline. It has a group analysis feature which I also tested for accuracy, and I now use that feature with confidence. I have experience with test and evaluation and technical reporting and understand statistical analysis of data. I write detailed reports to archive the results of my tests. For me it is the best money I have spent in the sport. I am not a benchrest competitor so I am not qualified to comment on the benchrest competition application. If you would like more detail on my test results you may send me a PM.

Thanks for the information. I do understand the quality of the frame is a key element. Also the effects wind and the movement of the target itself. Not sure this system will be the answer I am looking for. So many variables to factor in that can influence the data read. Might just stick with old trusty spotting scope and the walk down the range to see the results.

Shotmarker works better than a spotting scope and will allow you to make apples to apples comparisons with real data but how closely that matches the actual hole in the paper is affected by the set up and atmospherics. If you are wanting to separate 0.275” from a 0.300” group, it will be close to the resolution of the system.

If I bought one and gave it to you and then a year later I take it back, you would cry.

I am still in the que to get one. Have not taken my name out. As I understand from this thread, the lead time has been quite long. Dont expect to hear anything till after the first of the year.
