New truck time- looking for a raptor.

My son has had 2 of the twin turbo Ford V6 trucks, with nothing but problem. So study into everything before you buy. I run a newer Nissan Titan and love it! Almost 400hp like the Tundra and hemi Ram, but I get 24-27 mpg. It’s not very heavy duty, but I’ve hauled 1500 lbs it the box several times.
The 5.0 coyote is great, I’ve got one I’m a 2018. Pulls whatever I want without overheating and I put a winch on it and didn’t have to worry about blocking the intercooler

Back in May, I got a new truck. I wanted to get another Ram with a hemi before they disappear. I traded my old Ram in. I got crazy money for the trade in. The new one is a 1500, I don't tow or haul much, occasionally my boat. It's got plenty of poop for that.

Everyone trying to tell YOU what to buy, smh, the raptor is a beast! The suspension is unsurpassed, the ONLY truck to drive from Detroit to Baja run the race and drive back to Detroit without a breakdown. Get the Raptor!
While it is a "beast" DO NOT off road it very hard. I watched a video (when they first came out) of a guy test driving it on rough terrain and the air bags deployed. Note: If you look under the hood of the RAM TRX is has a picture of a T-Rex eating a Raptor and for good reason ; )

I have the 6.2 gasser in my F250 and I’m very happy with it, I think that’s what goes in the Raptor (probably a few mods). Plenty of power and that motor has a good reputation.
A lot of brand loyalty out there, for every guy that loves one, there’s a guy that hates it. You can get a lemon from any manufacturer.
You pay your money and take your chances…

Mine ate a timing chain and smashed all the intake valves at 62k.
I swear that every F-150 owner at my place of work ( a dozen of em at least) had the same issues. Front of engine and turbo failures on their 3.5's. Not knocking the brand but it should've been a recall. As bad as: I can name 20 people who have had their spark plugs blow out of their engines while driving on their last generation of engines... This is manufacturing negligence.

That’s what I have. Aside from a broken valve spring which is more common than it should be, it’s been great. Different cams and tune than the raptor 6.2. Too bad 2022 is last year for it.

Im not buying a new one. Went down to buy a raptor 37 after waiting on a raptor R. The salesman wouldnt let it go for less than $105k. He said he would sell it within a week for that, and he did. I was proud for him
[/seth does engines and oil changes for life as part of the deal lol!!!!! but they do haggle a little as well on the price just fyi.]

What a cluster. Ford should have definitely taken responsibility on the spark plug issue and made it right for their customers.
