Wayne Lapierre Money Admissions

LaPierre has run the NRA into the ground and run thru with the $$$ to a point that lots of folks have stopped contributing to the org. I personally stopped some years back when I saw what he was doing. If the $$$ was spent for the real cause which the NRA stands for I believe we would see a much better report of actions working towards defending the Constitution and our ONCE LEGAL gun rights.

The organization has been very poorly run for many years. Nobody gets on the board or is allowed to run without Wayne's OK. It's not a majority rule, it's a dictatorship and has been since Wayne took over. He is not able to discuss issues without yelling or screaming. He is not a 'problem solver', he causes problems. His salary as been way above what other 501 (3) C organizations pay. His wife was on the pay roll also. He is definitely not an ethical or honest person. I was a 'life member' when the NRA had fewer than 1 million members, I quit 30 years ago. I won't join an organization such as gun collectors or shooting range where NRA membership is required.

If you disagree with the board members and Wayne, then run for office and/or elect other board members when the time for voting comes around and change it.
As for not supporting the NRA, I will support them and a couple other groups that have done more for the shooting sports in so many ways and also in the courts to maintain our rights under the U.S. Constitution, no matter.
Fighting against it and the other groups, as so many seem to do, is just bowing to the anti's and giving them more power.

He’s been one of those things that I’ve puzzled over since the early 90s.. His on camera personality pisses me off even when I agree with him. I asked back then how an org like the NRA couldn’t afford a better public face.

I think Kittitas George hit the nail on the head there.

So a run for the office or trying to vote is of no value under those circumstances.

The truth is WLP has broken the law, violated NRA policies and done a great disservice to long time BOD members who tried to correct the wrongs. Now, I think we can more understand why VP Richard Childress, along with BOD member Tom Selleck, resigned their positions on the BOD. You can add Julie Goloski to the list of resignations as well as others who stepped away. Oliver North was also targeted by WLP during his tenure as NRA President.
I have, for the last five years, made donations to Gun Owners of America and VCDL. These were monies that had been donated to NRA in the past. NRA will not receive any more of my money until WLP is gone and a thorough audit done to see just how much more he and his cronies took us for.

I am one that has my doubts about him. I think there are other organizations that are more responsible to defend our rights?

I too, feel WLP has outlived his usefulness, and the BOD, I don't even know what they do. I have never seen minutes from one of their meetings, don't know who attends meetings or who even gives a hoot. I have never seen a member of the BOD at a shoot or club meeting, if nothing more than to introduce themselves and shoot the bull. The BOD is as much at fault as WLP. Now here's that big but you've been waiting for. Near as I can tell the NRA is the only pro gun organization that has much of a presence in DC. They are the only organization that the press bad mouths. I have never heard GOA being talked about in the press, NSSF or the concealed carry bunch. It seems to me the NRA is the only group fighting for me in DC. WLP is not the entire NRA, there are 6 million other Americans out there that make up the NRA and I am counting on them, as they are counting on me, to beat down this devilish scourge that has engulfed our nation. Your lack of donations to the NRA, I doubt is felt nor even noticed. I would like to ask you to reconsider and join the fight. WLP will get his in the end.
