Suggestion for posting target pictures

I doubt it.
I base what I buy on the components that are in the build.

I have yet to buy a barreled action that I haven't been able to make shoot well.

And again, if the seller wants to deceive the potential buyer, not much you can do about it.
Something to consider is how do you know that the target that they post is actually shot out of the gun they are selling?

Dont put a dime right next to your group. Dont lay a box of ammo right next to your group. Dont put your finger next to the group like youre pointing to it. Everybody on here is wondering what youre trying to hide. Not a single person on here will look at a group of 22cal holes and say “man i wish there was a dime in the picture so i could really see how small that is.” All you do is lose credibility covering up a flyer- just show it.
this ought to cover it!

Or the guys off the rack rifle with off the shelf ammo that 'shoots 1/2 MOA all day long if I do my part'. Funny thing is I've never once seen any of those guys at the range.
I've told this story before but here it is again: I had a friend in IN who kept telling me he had a "tack driver". I ask him to come down and spend the night and we'd go out and eat and next day go to the range. He did, we did and when at the range I ask him how far out he wanted me to set the target, his response was "we'll start close for you (me) at 100", I did LOL set the targets and shot a 64 UBR target, 1 hour later we still didn't have him on target, we ended up moving a target to 10 yards, got him on paper, I turned and looked at him and ask "how big are the tacks in IN?" LOL we never went to the range together again.

If you have shot much at all, you will have billfold groups. Means something to me if I see a few groups shot on the same piece of paper.
Now I know we all have a few of these. I went from first in the agg to 21st at 200yds.

I’ve used dimes and other items in photos to give perspective to less experienced shooters reading threads but I’ve never covered anything up.

However, I have omitted certain groups that didn’t shoot good in rifles because that’s not a load I would ever settle on. So for example, these are 4 groups from a 7mm Rem Mag hunting rifle I used to have. I have only posted the good groups in years past. I’ve never posted the full target showing the bad groups because I don’t see the point? Never shot the bad loads again. The actual accuracy of the rifle is the most accurate loads. But cat is outta the bag now! I hope you’re happy Dusty!!! Lol!

In all seriousness tho, I’m wondering how photos posted in any way of the accuracy of another persons rifle effects anyone? I don’t give two hoots if people are falsifying accuracy on targets. It doesn’t effect me or my rifles or my loading practices in any way.

If they shot a good group and want to post it with a perspective item then great for them! If they are lying and covering something up then they know the truth and that guilt of lying is on their conscience, not mine. I’ve seen some unreal accuracy on here from shooters far better than me but whether or not their target photos are truthful, I still only worry about the accuracy of my own rifles.

I'm pretty much the best 4 and 1 shooter I know of. This is one of the prettiest ones I shot about 10 years ago in Midland.

Winners never cheat and cheaters never win, I have fun with my poor targets and lord knows I’ve had my share .

I know a couple of cheaters that win a lot and they run the match. Unfortunately it continues to happen. They will lose in the long run though.
