New sightron s-tac ran out of adjustment

I bought one of the 3-16 s-tac that’s on sale at midway. Got it mounted today on my ar15 and went to sight it in and the scope will not adjust low enough before it’s out of adjustment. I did not change the mount which is a Nikon black 20 moa mount (I heard warne made them) and the scope that came off was a s-tac 4-20. What do I need to do. I guess I could shim it but I’m not thrilled about that idea. Thanks In advance.

Check your mounts again.

Even with the 20MOA, there should be enough adjustment in elevation to get you zeroed.

I did. There tight. I’m hoping y’all know a trick I don’t

100 is all. I’m still 2” high at 100yds scope is bottomed out

Thinking more along the lines the mount & rail aren't matched perfectly together.

I hope it's your mount and changing it MAY help. But if not, a few years ago, I ran into a similar issue on a bolt gun. I tried various mounts and even mounted the scope on a different action where it worked fine. So I contacted a local Master Gunsmith who examined the action and found the mount holes where not aligned correctly. Ended up redrilling the action and that solved the problem. I'm not sure you want to go to that extreme (for several reasons), but with so many "manufactures" of AR actions, there are some that come out that have errors both in manufacturing and drilling. I wish you best luck as I know how exasperating it can be not to be able to mount a new scope and find it won' zero worth a shit.

I had the same problem on a bolt gun also. Changed the mount and no more trouble. I guess that’s what I’m going to do. Should be able to get out for around $50

They don’t always play nice together, unless your’e planning to shoot long range I would loose the 20 moa rail and get closer to optical center on the scope.
