B&A Trigger Help

Anyone have a problem adjusting there single stage Bix & Andy?
After adjusting pull weight set screw and sear , For some reason when dry firing pull weight is around 1lbs. which I like for a target rifle . Problem is when a round is chambered pull weight feels like its 3lbs..
Is there a step I am missing ?

  1. Unload:))
  2. cock and release sear until trigger releases firing pin.
  3. adjust pull weight
  4. reset sear
  5. function test .
This is my second B&A which both have been alike .
Jewell is my go to , but I wanted to try something less sensitive to dust kicking up etc.
Please advise
Thx
Bolt is C.O.C.

Have you measured height using BnA directions and compared to their chart to confirm you have the right sear?

I have 6 BnA TacSport Pro 2 Stage all in TL3....for example...they ship with medium sear but my TL3 require a low sear so I always order them straight from Bullet Central with the low sear installed....

Sear is what I am thinking , just surprised when rifle build was function tested this was not addressed. both triggers were installed by highly recommended smiths as part of projects
Anyway , one is with Kelbly's Atlas and the other is Borden Mountaineer ,COC
As for Kelbly's' ill address sear height. For Borden Ill have to send request for info to James.
thx

Just looked on chart for Atlas which needs a med. sear ..169" is within default spec ??

Maybe , there is no Mechanical issue just not used to how shoe feels and trigger breaks, I have always used Jewells . Im going to change shoe for 90* see if that helps also

Could be your adjustment as well...ill admit, I tried for hours to tune all the settings on my BnA when I got my first one....I could get it feeling decent but not perfect.

I sent it in to Bullet Central and told them how I wanted the 1st stage travel and 2nd stage weight... when it came back, best feeling trigger I've owned and I've owned Jewell, Timney, TT Diamond, etc...

The next 5...I specified same adjustment specs, 90 degree shoe, low sear and they install all the parts and tune before shipping.

All of mine are setup the same with same parts and same travel and pull weight...

You can call them up and send it in and they will adjust it how you want and it will feel great

Thanks ..
It took awhile with jewel understanding how much pressure on over travel adj. Finally after some research I understood how to hold trigger shoe when turning out #2 screw.
So yeah not to waist time ill give a call.

WOWZA
Just spoke with Les at BC.
So Need to make an update on here for everyone to read.
Directions with triggers is not correct.
Do not cock and release sear!!
Rather cock and close bolt , keep doing this until sear does not catch. Start 1/4 turn and close bolt each time until rigger does not catch. VERY IMPORTANT.
After pull weight adj. do the same in reverse to set sear . Thats it
Also DO NOT add a 1/4 turn when everything is adjusted .

When changing shoes all parts are in plane sight , So for some reason if trigger is really out of wack you can adjust with side plate off to get things close.
