F Class Action

I would like to build a F class open rifle chambered in 284, and I'm trying to make a decision on the action. At this point, I have it narrowed down to the following:
  • Bat M
  • Borden BRLXD
  • Kelbly Golden Bear long
Does anyone of these have an advantage over the others, and is there another action I should consider? Thanks

We are lucky to have the excellent choices that are currently available for competitive F-Class actions. And you have some very good recommendations from some very talented and accomplished shooters in your thread already. I did put together this equipment list of the Top F-Open and Top FTR from the recent Texas State Championship, to serve as a reference for questions just like yours.

Thanks for all the input it is greatly appreciated. One of the criteria I was using was based on the port length needing to be at least 3", tvaught's list has several Borden medium actions with a port length of 2.75".

The 3" number was based on what I've read was needed for a 284, but maybe that is less important than I thought.

I really like my BRMXD and the 7 Shehane works just fine......I dont find myself pulling
live rounds much anyways.

I went with Borden BRMXD in 284 Shehane 2018. Now I have 4 more on FTR and F Open rifles. No experience in the others and they are top picks for sure. I am creature of habit and stick to what works for me. You can’t go wrong on any of those choices.

I have 2 Borden BRMXD and one bat M
I prefer the Bat M. It’s a personal preference as both are nice. If I had a choice all 3 of mine would be Bat M.

I have a panda in 284 very smooth top notch action
Also have a Defiant in 6.5x47 it’s very smooth and accurate
You can’t go wrong with ether of these

I asked Bat to make the MST. The lugs on the M hold pressure like no other and the extra weight is welcomed. The M stroke was more than needed, so the MST (Short Throw) is basically B ports in an M with the bolt stop moved up. Its just enough that you normally wont need to notch the cheek piece for the bolt. Im a fan. Neuvo would also be a top choice if your looking at Bat.

Genuinely curious.... Odd in what way? I find them very easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble.
Not particularly difficult but odd vs. the std remington design...two screws to lock it, record measurement of extension. Just odd.

I just got a Nuevo and man is this thing slick.

I have a Bat M, and 2 friends shoot Borden BRMXD's (1 friend owns 3 of them). That said close your eyes and pick one. If I had it to do all over again, it would still be the BAT!

I shot a BAT M and a BAT Nuevo. Both slick as hell but I think the Nuevo is really in a class by itself.
My girlfriend shoot a Stolle Panda and I really like hers as well. I don’t think it is quite as tight or smooth as the BATs but it certainly is very smooth and more than capable of winning (she has shown me this on many occasions by smoking me in various competitions).
